Here this is what is being thought about. It was written after the civil war.

14th amendment seems a good idea as it seems to exclude those implicated in insurrection from holding office or become a senator etc.

That should stop Trump from running for president again, and hopefully get rid of some like Kruz and Hawley.

Thanks Elegran. That is certainly not right! I should have written social media platforms not governments. It is the argument many have been having for a long time - that they (social media platforms) should be dealt with under the same laws of publishing as, say, a newspaper.

I reported Paddyanne's extremely offensive post. In response to my stating the fact that the Russian propaganda news service RT, which aims to destabilise the West had give Nigel Farage his own show to encourage brexit and had given Alex Salmond his own show to promote the destruction of the United Kingdom, she accused me of being a "Vichy Scot". As you know this means a Nazi-supporting traitor, which I am most certainly not. The fact that the post was instantly deleted indicates that GNHQ recoginsed just how offensive it was.

Thankfully we are here in the UK. I am taking so much interest in this because we spent a lot of time in the USA before all this madness started and had a vacation home in Florida which we sold 8 years ago. So we have friends from those days, neighbours and people who looked after our house and I also have a dear friend in Minnesota.

Blaming Antifa wasn’t a good idea was it, most of them won’t have a clue what it stands for and what their aims are.

I think the answer to your question Rhinestone is that there was collusion within The White House, The Pentagon and the emergency services. Let’s hope there will be a very thorough investigation and every bit of this collusion will be evidenced. I believe some Antifa members had access to Parler and before it was closed down they took lots of details of the terrorists: personal details, employment, arrangements for the day, details of what they were going to do etc and are passing them on to the FBI. These people are panicking now because they can’t cover their tracks. I can see why some Democrats say there should be a 90 day period before the impeachment trial goes before the Senate, there should be a bulky file of evidence by them and one of the only two lawyers who are willing to represent Trump, ie Guiliani will have faced charges for his part in the incitement and hopefully be in prison. The other reason for a delay would be that Biden can get going with his plans for government.

Now that it is common knowledge that Trump referred to them as ‘low class’ and they realise that they are facing serious consequences for what they took part in hopefully many of them will have lost the impetus to join in further action.

What I am angry about is at that the Lafayette Square protest of George Floyd’s death they used rubber bullets and tear gas so Trump could walk across the street to an old church and hold a Bible upside down in a photo op? Where were those rubber bullets the other day?
The FBI had gone to the homes of some more violent and vocal protestors before the riots and told them they would be arrested if they went to D.C.
Another thing I learned is that the Capitol has its own cell network and they know everyone’s phone number that was on during that time.

Hopefully the tide is beginning to turn against Trump. PGA has cancelled the contract to hold a golf tournament at one of Trump’s golf resorts in 2022 and I believe any tournament at any of Trump’s resorts in the future. JP Morgan and CitiBank will no longer process payments to the Trump campaign website. Hopefully this is the beginning of more big businesses distancing themselves from Trump.
