The loss of freedom of speech, of sidelining women and biology

I've been asked to repost this:

'Julie Bindel had a pretty horrendous time whilst delivering a (previously postponed) lecture to York University's Free Speech Society.

The activists, who say we must be "all be kind" didn't display much courtesy or kindness to her.?

She was abused, accused, screamed at, and had placards thrust in her face. The TW mob were out in force, and she was "invited" to kiss their "man-boobs" and told things she could do with their "trans d*cks".

Meanwhile, in the Court case involving Alison Bailey, Stonewall tell us that there are no such things as male and female bodies. They don't exist...?

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10807211/We-not-inherently-male-female-Stonewall-campaigner-says-bodies-just-bodies.html

It sure is a funny old world out there in Trans La-La land.

Yet a woman who decided to become a man would still not be able to inherit a peerage because - guess what - ‘he’ is still a woman!

The men hold all the cards, don’t they? angry

Yes and some women support the idea that they should!?

In the middle of the largest NHS waiting list since records began, with seriously ill patients having to sometimes wait weeks and months for essential treatments to begin, there is a new service beginning, by the NHS, offering free transgender treatment to TWs.

"Female-to-male transgender surgery is to be offered for free by a new in-house NHS medical service, it can be revealed.

A leading London hospital has been signed up by NHS England to provide ‘masculinising surgical treatment’ to transgender patients born as women, some still teenagers, who believe they are living ‘in the wrong body’.

The type of operations, costing thousands of pounds each, are expected to include the creation of male genitalia, and the removal of wombs and ovaries."

Well, as long as we get our priorities right, although it doesn't seem as though we are....?

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10847183/Outcry-NHS-creates-new-service-offer-female-male-surgery-free.html

FarNorth Tue 24-May-22 10:18:53

"A spokesman said: ‘The Chelsea and Westminster service will begin running later this year.

‘This service will not directly impact on elective surgery work.

‘It will provide lower masculinising surgery and does not include mastectomies.’"
(my emphasis)

The fact that this is offered by the NHS will make it seem respectable.
In reality, genital surgery is experimental and can cause huge problems - as can hysterectomy.

I wonder why women are to be prioritised here, when that is usually not what happens.
Perhaps because having a specific service offering genital surgery to men who claim to be women would reveal how few of them actually want it.
Whereas (usually young) women who say they are men are more gullible.

Ricky Gervais, has a new stand up show, called SuperNature, on Netflix, which has deeply offended the trans lobby, and has taken them on, telling them he's happy to be cancelled.

The show, as is the style of Gervais, insults various things - nothing and no one is left out, but some have gone nuts about it.

He has confirmed that he is in no way anti-Trans, supports rights for all, but the American activists don't seem to be listening.

He also pointed out that humour is important with life events, can actually assist with understanding, and as it's his last stand up and he's rich enough not to care, the activists must do their worse, if they choose to.

Doodledog Fri 27-May-22 14:28:15

And the trans lobby say that its critics are touchy?

I would very much like to hear a properly thought-out argument for why the TRAs feel that transpeople are 'the most marginalised section of society', why 'gender' is more important than sex, and why they think that anyone can become a woman just by saying so, without consulting women beforehand, and without any care for the consequences for the women they claim to 'know' they 'need to be'.

If it included a list of the rights they feel they are currently being denied, so much the better, and if they could manage to use non-aggressive language that doesn't accuse critics of hysterics, phobia or discrimination, avoid either relying on vague notions of 'just knowing', or 'feelings' and asking women to 'be kind', that would be amazing. If they could do all of that and not walk away as soon as they are asked questions they can't answer, I'd be delighted. Surprised, but delighted. I won't be holding my breath, though.

DiamondLily Fri 27-May-22 14:45:03

DD...Don't hold your breath, they will never do that .....we are going to watch the show on Netflix tonight, so I can see what all the hissy fits are about.

DiamondLily, thankfully I’m not seriously ill, but I am in serious discomfort due to needing a hysterectomy which I have now been waiting for, for 2yr 3m. It sickens me that women are at the bottom of the list when it comes to healthcare.

FarNorth Fri 27-May-22 21:16:37

Tell them you are trans Sue and you'll be a priority.
I saw an interview with a young woman,in Australia I think, who did do that - and it worked.
She needed a hysterectomy for a genuine medical reason.

British Cycling is still allowing male people to compete as women.

Cyclist Jane Page, who was assigned second place in a race despite being the first woman to finish, has made an official complaint to British Cycling.

Bad news for the canine world; men are now deciding that if they can be women..... they can be dogs too! They're just not happy being a bloke are they?

A man has dedicated his savings and spent over £12,000 transforming himself into a terrifyingly realistic dog.
Known only as Toko, the canine fanatic spent around two million Yen - the equivalent of £12,480 - turning himself into his favourite breed.
It was was his lifelong goal to become a border collie, with a specialist costume company called Zeppet help making his dreams come true.
The Japanese agency is best known for making models and sculptures for movies, but is also able to do custom orders.
It reportedly took Zeppet 40 days to make the canine outfit, with Toko continuously adding extra details to make it fit his specific vision.

I'm hoping that he's been taken straight round to the vets to get "seen to"! grin

JK Rowling has been vindicated. Again.

BBC upholds JK Rowling transgender discussion complaint.

And judging from the comments beneath the article, I can't help but wonder who is driving the trans gender bus? It's apparent from the comments, that the ordinary person in the street sees it for the misogynistic clap trap that it is.

Some common sense at last:

The attorney-general, Suella Braverman, has declared that schools do not have to accommodate children who want to change gender under current legislation.

The government is currently drawing up formal guidance for schools on gender dysphoria and children who identify as transgender.

In an interview with the Times, Braverman QC said the law states that under-18s cannot legally change their sex, which enables schools to treat all of their pupils by the gender of their birth.

The Conservative MP for Fareham said: “Under-18s cannot get a gender recognition certificate, under-18s cannot legally change sex. So again, in the context of schools, I think it’s even clearer. A male child who says in a school that they are a trans girl, that they want to be female, is legally still a boy or a male. And schools have a right to treat them as such under the law.

“They don’t have to say, ‘OK, we’re going to let you change your pronoun or let you wear a skirt or call yourself a girl’s name.’”

Braverman, who was appointed attorney general in February 2020, added that she believes that teachers needed to take a “much firmer line” on the issue and suggested that some schools were encouraging gender dysphoria through an “unquestioning approach”.

The attorney general also discussed girls’ toilets and changing rooms having special protections as safe spaces if a scenario arises of a child born male wanting to use them.
She said: “I would say to the school that they don’t have to and that they shouldn’t allow that child to go into girls’ toilets.”

Braverman added the Equality Act contained “very important single-sex exemptions” that protected spaces such as girls’ lavatories and changing rooms.

Good news, but then this nonsense pops up. Perhaps the Civil Service might be better sorting out the chaos in government departments, before getting involved with all this.

"Whitehall civil servants are being sent to gender non-conforming book clubs and told not to call mentally ill people 'crazy' in a new wave of wokeness in Westminster.

Staff at the highest levels of government must also mark 'World Afro Day' and 'Bi-visibility day' within their departments.

The civil service reportedly recognises more than 100 genders, the investigation found.

A source told The Telegraph: 'My colleagues and I were informed by HR that there are over 100 recognised gender identities in the Civil Service as staff are permitted to self identify their gender without any medical input and regardless of biological sex.'

A second circular lists 12 separate identities in network for transgender and intersex staff a:gender.

Whitehall HR guidelines in the Department of Health's Guidance: Gender Identity and Intersex document states 'all gender identities' are recognised.

The group is open to members who self-identify as transgender, transsexual, non-binary, gender fluid, genderqueer, gender variant, cross-dresser, genderless, third gender or bigender, and intersex.

A Trans Day of Remembrance will be held.

One official said they were told to spend a fifth of their 'corporate objective' time working in 'corporate identity networks', defined as goals to make the civil service more inclusive.

They said they had to spend five per cent of this time in a 'non-binary' network which included attending a 'gender non-conforming book club' and celebrating 'Non-Binary Awareness Week'.

They told the newspaper: 'I was hired to do trade policy and yet the taxpayer pays me to waste 20 per cent of my corporate work time on this crap.'"

What is the matter with these halfwits?

Still, as long as he doesn't cock his leg up lamp posts, or start humping any available human leg, it's liveable with lol ?

In an interview with the Times, Braverman QC said the law states that under-18s cannot legally change their sex, which enables schools to treat all of their pupils by the gender of their birth.

For goodness sake, what is that supposed to mean?

It goes on to say “They don’t have to say, ‘OK, we’re going to let you change your pronoun or let you wear a skirt or call yourself a girl’s name.’”
These things aren't of equal value. A child's given name & sex-based pronouns should continue to be used.
Wearing a skirt is an unnecessary stereotype and uniforms could be changed so that no-one, or everyone, wears a skirt or so that everyone has a personal choice whether to do so.

People are so wrapped up in stereotypes that they can't think straight.

The utter breathtaking self indulgence of Stella Creasy.

Chewbacca Sat 28-May-22 13:37:34

I've just read that too Galaxy. What on earth is she thinking of? She either wasn't aware that Debbie Hayton is transgender or she is just so determined to be a fully paid up member of Stonewall that she's lost her ability for critical thinking.
