Now this really be worth doing!!

Let's start with the QS.

What will be left out/watered down! Not sure how they will explain it away as it's in the manifesto. Probably say something like "Brexit and all it's complications will mean that stuff will have to be shelved"

Fox hunting - out
Triple lock - remains
Social care - out

Mail putting its backing behind Boris. So how much clout do you think you have now Dacre?

whitewave Sun 11-Jun-17 11:00:12

Austerity?

durhamjen Sun 11-Jun-17 11:02:20

You have to warn us when you are starting a new thread, whitewave.

It has been said that grammar schools will be kept in in a watered down form.
I have a feeling that she might lose that vote in the commons.

whitewave Sun 11-Jun-17 11:04:21

grin I'm so exited about it all.

Labours going to try and amend the QS. (Peston)

durhamjen Sun 11-Jun-17 11:04:49

A minister for digital government?
Mayhem has been pushing digital stuff a lot lately, to show how up-to-date she is.

whitewave Sun 11-Jun-17 11:06:27

Who'll be the deputy? Something I keep hearing possible.

whitewave Sun 11-Jun-17 11:16:03

Chilling remarks from Hesletine

whitewave Sun 11-Jun-17 11:22:51

Interesting remark by Peston " is May emotionally capable"?

No one answered in the affirmative.

Rigby46 Sun 11-Jun-17 11:23:48

So, this is how it works is it - here's my manifesto, oh look at the GE results, I can't deliver it so there'll be a QS that bears the loosest of passing resemblance to it. That's democracy?? Grammar schools - dead dead dead. Social care changes- dead dead dead and in both cases the basic issues of decently funding our education system and social care system are also dead. I didn't think I could despise anyone more than MT for ruining this country but TM, in a different set of circumstances, is running her very close. And all those cabinet ministers who allowed her advisers to treat them all with such disdain and contempt - all typical typical Tories - self first, party second, country - who gives a flying fig?

Rigby46 Sun 11-Jun-17 11:25:27

And, for the avoidance of doubt, I wouldn't have a cup of tea with a member of the DUP

whitewave Sun 11-Jun-17 11:28:39

It's called democracy confused

Rigby46 Sun 11-Jun-17 11:33:45

It's called treating the people with utter and complete contempt - oh wait, it's the Tories, that's what they do,

whitewave Sun 11-Jun-17 11:35:23

There is already a continuation of chaos with Downing Street mistakenly issuing a statement about the DUP

whitewave Sun 11-Jun-17 11:40:02

Economy tanking

Government which can do nothing

Brexit a total mess - nothing we can do will bring about anything that will benefit us.

A totally divided government

MaizieD Sun 11-Jun-17 11:48:00

Cancel Brexit and I bet the economy would recover pretty rapidly.

As for a revolution led by Brexiteers, when I asked on another thread what they would do if Brexit was cancelled there was no response at all. So how damaging would it be if linked to investment which actually reversed cuts to social welfare, education etc and improved affordable & council house building rates?
(Tory reverse Brexit would be useless because they'd just continue to perpetrate the conditions which contributed to a significant part of the Leave vote)

durhamjen Sun 11-Jun-17 11:55:05

Another election now and Corbyn would win by a mile.
Survey done by survation, which got the last election right.

whitewave Sun 11-Jun-17 12:02:58

So if the DUP get more money are we expecting Wales and Scotland to sit by and accept it?

Why don't they use the £435k unexplained funding received?

durhamjen Sun 11-Jun-17 12:08:31

It has to go through a few more steps to be seen as completely clean? Or well laundered?

MaizieD Mon 12-Jun-17 08:51:52

Why don't they use the £435k unexplained funding received?

They spent that (illegally) on Leave campaigning on the mainland. It's all gone.

whitewave Mon 12-Jun-17 08:56:22

Yesmaizie and that's why they are keen to get Farage in on the talks.

It also occurs to me that this will be one of the shortist QS's ever as they stemmed to have ditched most of the manifesto. Wonder how they will explain that away.

durhamjen Mon 12-Jun-17 14:48:08

This is May's replacement for IDS and Damien Green in the DWP.

'Exchequer secretary to the Treasury David Gauke said new figures showing borrowing for 2011-12 came in at £119bn, rather than the OBR’s forecast of £126bn, meant the government was dealing with its debts.

This is particularly rich, coming from him. Everybody now knows that the best way for the government to pay down its debts is to tax all the rich Brits who have stashed their cash in offshore tax-havens. Mr Gauke used to work for a tax avoidance firm and his wife is a tax avoidance lawyer. He is exactly the wrong man to lecture us on getting the deficit – the difference between government spending and tax receipts – down.'

Should we ask him to ask his wife to set up offshore accounts for pensioners, as we are now the largest group of benefit recipients?
