Are you a cat or dog person?

Or maybe both?

Most people I've met are one or the other, even if they love all animals.

Do you think it ties in with being an extrovert/ introvert?

I have had dogs I the past but never knew how sweet and gentle a dog can be until I got one three years ago after having an aggressive dog put to sleep . She is just the nicest dog ever, doesnt shed or smell and has the most loving nature every day I wonder how lucky I am to have her, she keeps me going in these terrible times

I like them both - but in different ways. I can't say that I prefer one, though. I like animals a lot more than people!

I am definitely a person person. grin

Whoever coined the saying: "Dogs have owners, Cats have staff," got it right. Another one that I have heard is: "Cats rule. Dogs drool."

We have three Birman cats, all have that air of entitlement about them. Try correcting one and you will get a flick of the plume, (Birmans are not common, so please, don't call their plume a tail,) that flick says it all: "Up Your's."

Hi to all, first post yada yada. Love both, but adore cats. They take a bit more effort to reward you with affection, plus feeding them helpssmile I like the fact that they don’t seem to get stressed or do anything that doesn’t suit them

If I was inclined to own either it would probably be a dog. I despise cats, I've cleaned up far too much cat s**t in my garden and drive. However, I cannot stomach the thought of picking up after a dog too, so, no pets for me!

CROSS! Not crops!

Dogs will always be my favourite but I love cats too and have had quite a few over the years. Basically, I just love animals!!

Both! Used to have 3 dogs, collie, spaniel crops and JRT, plus 2 cats when with ex. Also sheep, chickens, ducks, bantams, old pony and donkey.

Currently just 2 cats, but would love a dog. My friend runs a dog charity in Mexico, they catch and neuter street dogs, but are always looking for homes for the puppies.

We would love to have one, but the cost of getting it from there to here, plus quarantine costs means it's not feasible sad

I love both, but the heart ache of a missing cat is just too much so I have dogs. I adore all animals though.

I have had a cat as a child and then both over the years but currently have a dog - dogs somehow seem more interested in you whereas cats tend to do their own thing

Gingster Sat 17-Oct-20 19:22:35

Cats make me sneeze. I love my dog

Desdemona Sat 17-Oct-20 19:15:56

I like both, but have only ever had cats because they are simpler to take care of.

diygran Sat 17-Oct-20 19:01:01

Have had 2 cats. The last one was a real 'madam'. Think she was part wild cat and used to creep up and bite the back of our legs. Lived a long time....too long. So it's always dogs for us now. All rescue dogs or those needing home because of divorce.
Husband and I are definitely not extrovert but very chatty to other dog walkers.

FannyCornforth Sat 17-Oct-20 18:41:52

Definitely both.
I feel so fortunate to share my life and and personal space with any animal.
It is a true blessing.

I love all furry animals, but cats are special and I've had a cat - or three - all my life. They are wonderful.

Toyoungtobeadamnedgran Sat 17-Oct-20 18:02:21

Both, I love them for their personality and traits

After my last cat was killed on the road I swore I wouldn't get another but I do miss not having one in the house and the dogs help me get out and have been a godsend during these strange days we are alll having to endure

But give me anything with fur and I'm a sucker for a cuddle, ?

Dogs every time for me. As some of you may recall from a previous thread, my aversion to cats is exceeded only by my outrage at their complacent owners' refusal to countenance any curb on their beloved Tiddles crapping in my garden and killing the small birds I feed.

DanniRae Tue 22-Sep-20 17:35:39

No contest - DOGS!! grin

Willow500 Tue 22-Sep-20 17:16:30

We've had several dogs over the years who have always given unconditional love but have had cats for over 40 years now so I would say definitely a cat person. They all have such different personalities and whilst they're very independent they give as much love as dogs do - just in their own way smile

CaptainCarol Tue 22-Sep-20 17:11:19

i love my cats! there like family to me, king Oscar and Lady Lola are such characters and great companions. Especially with my age I couldn't handle the responsibility of a dog my knees aren't the same as they used to be 20 years ago

biba70 Tue 22-Sep-20 16:43:24

definitely both

Oopsminty Sat 19-Sep-20 19:56:05

Absolutely adore them

I'm a doggie person. Love all animals, but have always loved having a dog. Now I'm on my own, I'm thankful for my furry friend. Makes me exercise, have something to talk to and makes me smile. They give you so much love, they are great.
