This thread is for the 100 gransnetters who have been chosen to trial No7 Restore & Renew Day & Night serum.

Here’s what Boots had to say, “No7 is the UK’s leading skincare brand. NEW No7 Restore& Renew Day & Night Serum is specifically formulated for more mature skin and actively targets the five key signs of ageing: wrinkles, lack of firmness, uneven pigmentation, fragility and dull skin. In clinical trials, after four weeks of use, both light-reflecting characteristics and levels of natural moisture return to similar levels of younger skin. New Restore & Renew Day & Night Serum is our fourth clinically proven serum meaning that we have a clinically proven serum for every stage of a woman’s life. We have had great results from our clinical trial and user testing, but we’d love to hear what gransnetters think about the product as well.”

We’d like you to use the product each day and night for at least four weeks, but preferably for the full eight weeks. Feel free to post your feedback on this thread as often as you like while using the serums.

When you're ready please answer the following questions:

Q1: What were your overall impressions of No7 Restore & Renew Day & Night serum?

Q2. After using Restore & Renew Day & Night serum for four weeks, how significantly has your skin changed in the following areas? If so please give details.
· Lines and wrinkles
· Firmness
· Pigmentation
· Fragility
· Skin’s radiance

Q3. The RRP for No7 Restore & Renew Day & Night serum is £24.95, do you think you'd be likely to buy the product again or not? If so, why? If not, why not?

Q4. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the serums to a friend? If so, why? If not, why not?

Everyone who adds their feedback to this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a No7 skincare bundle worth over £100.

Please note, Boots may use any comments posted on this thread in marketing, editorial and/or promotional material so please only post if you are happy with this.

Thanks and good luck,

GNHQ

This product was extremely easy to apply and rubbed into the skin very quickly. The box did arrive damaged but that may have been down to the postman. As I have been using it less than a week it is hard to say if there is any improvement. This may be more noticeable as time goes on. It is rather pricey so as to whether I would buy it depends on how effective the product is

I have now been using the No7 Restore and Renew Serum for 5 days so it is still early days to expect some miraculous transformation but first impressions are good. The packaging is fine without being over the top and it is easy to identify which is the day and which is the night serum. Helpfully they are the same shades as the No7 Restore and Renew moisturisers so that helps!

My skin was starting to feel parched and dehydrated now that the central heating is on in the house but my skin is already feeling less dry and significantly softer. Be interesting to see the effects when the colder weather strikes though!

Are the 2 tubes actually going to last for 4 weeks? I know that serum is used quite sparingly, but I feel I'm trying to be extra careful with the amount I'm applying in order to make it last, so I'm not sure I'm applying enough?

futuregran1 Mon 21-Oct-13 11:43:07

Received my Serums last week and have started using them. They go on quite smoothly and are easy to apply, but what I really don't like is the 'Perfume'. It's very strong and flowery and I can't get to sleep at night because the scent is so strong, and to me, unpleasant.

It would also have helped if there was some indication on how much to use. Will report back after 4 weeks' use.

Overall impression was that there does not seem to be much serum and I doubt if that will last for 8 weeks. The colour differentiation between day and night product is good and matches the Boots skin cream which I am using in conjunction. I have just been using it for a few days now but I must say that my skin feels really silky and smooth. The 'miracle' has not yet worked with regards to the overall appearance of my skin but I live in hope. I think my skin does not feel so tight and it does look brighter and definitely feels softer. I most definitely would not pay £24.95 for those two little tubes - I hope you meant it was for the two and not just one. I would recommend it friends though who might be willing to pay that price

So far so good. Skin feels nice and silky.
Haven't looked closely at wrinkles yat. (Too bleary in the mornings and too tired at night)

Lyndysim Mon 21-Oct-13 12:29:10

I have used the serum in conjunction with Boots moisturiser(I converted to this several years ago after using Dermologica). My skin feels hydrated so I look forward to seeing if there is an improvement in a few weeks!!!

jayceecee Mon 21-Oct-13 12:36:54

I agree with previous comments regarding whether the serums will last for 8 weeks. I have also been using them for about 5 days and having a stinking cold cannot really tell what's happening as I look awful anyway! However, having used Protect and Perfect for years with very good results (I'm always being told I don't look my age!) I'm hopeful..........if it works then its worth the price. Onwards and upwards ladies....!

The ones I buy are in 30ml tubes and I always buy them when there's a 3 for 1 offer on [and also use the £5 vouchers you often get for No7 products]. Along with getting points on my Boots card [which I then use for other things] it brings the cost down greatly. Mind you, I did get a freebie of a Yves St Laurent serum yesterday so I can do a comparison [although I'll never be able to afford the YSL one].

tanith Mon 21-Oct-13 13:20:14

I've been using the serum for about 6days now and as others have said a bit early for a transformation but my skin does already feel smoother and I love how easily it smooths on. So far so good , I just took a look and to be honest even if I love it I'm not sure I would pay so much for both creams although it would be worth it if it works well , maybe I might ask for it as a christmas present as OH is always asking me for ideas...

Elegran Mon 21-Oct-13 13:26:15

I am still waiting for mine to arrive. Postman has just been, but all he had was a catalogue from Patra.

bluemoon Mon 21-Oct-13 13:41:11

I've been using the night & day serum(s) for over a week so it's too early to say anything. I wonder if the tubes will last for 8 weeks like others on here but I'll give it a go. It must surely depend on how generously you apply the stuff?
I do like the fact that it is easy to apply and is easily absorbed into the skin. No greasy feeling and leaves my face feeling comfortable.

petallus Mon 21-Oct-13 15:28:14

I have only been using this serum for less than a week but so far it seems to make applying face cream easier. Skin feels a little less dry.

dancingfeet Mon 21-Oct-13 17:42:24

I have been using the serums for almost a week now and I agree with everyone else, that there is no way they are going to last four weeks, let alone eight. I find that they are not moisturising enough on their own and have bought the day and night and night creams to use along with them. Fortunately I had a money off voucher.

Flowerofthewest Mon 21-Oct-13 18:15:20

checked with Boots today in local shop, The Serum samples are, in fact, the correct size AND they are around £24 for the pack of two. The assistant assured me that they should last for 4 weeks.

I love the stuff. It does make the moisturiser go on easier. Skin looks more 'glowing' if I may say.

yayaq Mon 21-Oct-13 18:39:27

Only had it a few days so difficult to assess too much. easy to use, easy to cover face and neck. obviously have to be sparing as little in the tubes. feels nice so far

Flowerofthewest Mon 21-Oct-13 18:41:41

I do enjoy using it already and would recommend it but it is a tad expensive, especially for the age group as many of us have limited income as wrinklies (or, if it works, usedtobewrinklies)

GillieB Mon 21-Oct-13 21:06:50

I have been using the serums now for a week and, although I can't see any difference in my skin yet, it feels lovely - very soft and silky. Another one who wonders how long it is going to last and I am being very sparing. Will report back.

Sorry about that - don't know what happened there.

NannaAnna Mon 21-Oct-13 21:14:55

dancingfeet - just a little mention that serums are designed to be used under moisturisers and are not intended to replace them smile
I've also bought a No 7 moisturiser to use with them as I wasn't sure about using a different brand on top of the serum.
Was this a good marketing ploy on the part of the brand? thlwink

pattieb Mon 21-Oct-13 21:19:42

As the other ladies I have only been using the serum for a few days so I haven't really noticed a difference yet
I like the feel of it on my skin but also wonder if it will last for the duration of the testing
I think if I do want to buy it in the future I would need to look out for it on special offer

Flowerofthewest Mon 21-Oct-13 23:13:48

GillieB One comment for each tube maybe grin

Flowerofthewest Mon 21-Oct-13 23:14:39

I admit that I am using Nivea Q10 along with it as I have only just bought it.
