There doesn't seem to be any humour.

Its a bit frumpy. And inward looking.

I feel disappointed. sad

Yes. I know I can go if I feel like that.

shysal Fri 09-Sep-11 16:45:58

you provide most of the humour jangly It would be a sad place without you.

Baggy Fri 09-Sep-11 16:48:34

Time to do some housework, jangly! wink

Charlotta Fri 09-Sep-11 16:53:14

What is humour to you jangly is just silly to me! If we had yet more of your Humour then I would despair of Gransnet. There are some very interesting stimulating threads on gransnet. A pity you can't appreciate them. Plenty of Gransnetters do.

jangly Fri 09-Sep-11 16:54:42

Oh, no Baggy. Me and DD are just off out to get a pub dinner and - ....chase after David Walliams again. grin

Marlow today.

My Roomba has done all my hoovering for me.

My house is spotless!

Apart from the bird poo on the bedroom window.

jangly Fri 09-Sep-11 16:55:56

Thank you Charlotta.

Mwah. smile

Jangly don't access Gransnet as often as I used too but know you were there when it began too. Things change as they grow......

The best fun was arranging the Campervan trip...such a laugh.
Must agree jangly wins the comedy prize.

I am fairly humorous on FB but topics are more serious on GN ...which we need sometimes to get off our ample bosoms all the shit we have been carrying around with us for 50/60/70 yrs !!!!

When do we start planning our Chr*****s party (to early to say the word )?

nannym Fri 09-Sep-11 18:06:28

I was fairly quick to join GN when it started, and must say that I enjoy it just as much now as I did then. Possibly some of the topics are a bit serious, but surely that is the same with any forum - you get a huge variety of subjects. Not everyone can be ready with a quirky comment all the time and give and take is paramount.

Anne58 Fri 09-Sep-11 18:19:44

Would it help if I posted a true occurrence story, that I had posted on (ahem) another forum that seemed to be well received?

I have been told that they have the copyright, but it might add an extra frisson if you thought I might be arrested in the course of trying to amuse you!

Go on, Jangly dare me!

greenmossgiel Fri 09-Sep-11 18:25:26

I agree, lynne, grumpy and nannym. Some of the more serious and usually political subjects I tend not to post onto, mainly because I'm often not too sure of my facts. I do however, read them and think about what's been said. A ripple of humour popping up is refreshing when given and taken in the right context, though, do you not think? hmm

glammanana Fri 09-Sep-11 18:27:17

I joined GN in May and have alway's enjoyed reading the post's of all the member's,jangly and her fab humour baggy with her endless knowledge glass with her weight loss club, biker and her campervan outing's,it would be very sad if every one had the same sence of humour,we might as well log off and not come back again if that was the case.

Anne58 Fri 09-Sep-11 18:44:32

Grumpy speak for yourself re ample bosoms! I struggle to fill an M&S 32A.

crimson Fri 09-Sep-11 18:55:01

I suppose the problem is that so many of us are old, tired, dull and boring. And that humour is oh so subjective.....

Annobel Fri 09-Sep-11 19:00:19

crimson, I don't believe you are any of the above and certainly not boring! Yes, humour is subjective and we don't all relate to the same stimuli. But grans are as varied as any other social or age group. Aren't we?

elderflower1 Fri 09-Sep-11 19:00:49

I like the more serious threads on gransnet as well as the more humerous ones. I don't always post though because I am not so quick with my replies as you jangly. With the more serious topics I have a tendency to overthink the subject so that by the time I have formed I reply it has moved on several topics.

Grumpyoldwoman Fri 09-Sep-11 19:01:51

Checklist

Old.........Yep!!
Tired.......Yep!!
Dull.........at times
Boring .....at times

Phew I fit the criteria for Gransnet !!! grin

JessM Fri 09-Sep-11 19:01:51

I had my one big laugh of the week on GN. See the travel thread.
Being serious minded (as well as having a sense of humour) i am a bit frustrated with the lack of serious debate at the moment. The NHS is about to be dismantled and is anyone interested?
Yes quite phoenix let's hear it for the bosom that does not get in the way or wobble about inconveniently. Have always felt blessed with having 36a chest - despite the fact that I have a had chunk lopped off the rhs, would not swap em.
And come on, I dare you, cheer us up. I guess copyright only applies if you use the exact same words... They can't copyright your life!

lynne Fri 09-Sep-11 19:09:01

Yep

Anne58 Fri 09-Sep-11 19:09:09

JessM lovely to hear your positive attitude to what must have been a really hard situation.

I am quite prepared to post the aforementioned, but do you think I should do it separately, i.e. under a heading of something subtle, like "Oi, Jangly!" ? Just to make sure she sees it?

lynne Fri 09-Sep-11 19:10:38

haha...grumpy old woman

crimson Fri 09-Sep-11 19:11:58

I feel old, tired dull and boring sometimes but y'know what..am I bovvered wink.....?

greenmossgiel Fri 09-Sep-11 19:13:49

I'm maybe boring - but I'm never bored! grin

Anne58 Fri 09-Sep-11 19:21:04

So, shall I? And if so, then post it here or a new thread for Jangly?
