Sunshine Emoticon

There's been talk of snowdrops and the approach of Spring, so I thought it would be lovely to have a Sunshine emoticon to banish the gloomy days and herald in spring.
A bit early, I know, but hopefully this will give the Gransnet 'techies' time to get one up and running. They'd be interested to know how many of you are interested.
Cast your votes now.............smile

I'm not sticking my flipping neck out.

Butternut Tue 10-Jan-12 15:32:20

grin jingl....... but you're so good at that. wink! I just thought a little sunshine one might be nice.

bagitha Tue 10-Jan-12 15:39:19

I want a LOT of sunshine, please! Prefer cold, icy winters from that point of view. Last winter was great for sunshine if not for gritted roads. This year's been a bit miz weatherwise.

Ok, thanks for the thoughts all. We're slightly starting to feel like flowers, bears and sunshine might be too much cuteness for the system to handle... but we'll have a think.

kittylester, if you'd like to save your post before you leave, you can always copy it, so that you can paste it into a word document. To do this, highlight what you want to copy, then just click ctrl and c (on a PC) or cmd and c on a Mac. Then, once you're in word (or anywhere else you want to paste it), just click ctrl and v (cmd and v on a Mac). Then you can save it if you want, or leave it on your screen for as long as you need to. Hope that helps!

Thanks Josie I worked out that I could do that but it's a bit convoluted if the doorbell rings etc etc. Never mind. If I come back to it and can't remember (perish the thought!!) then it was probably not that important anyway!

Butternut Tue 10-Jan-12 17:52:10

Josie - thanks for comments, but sunshine isn't cuteness - it's a necessity! grin. See what you can do, please.

jingl Tue 10-Jan-12 17:53:28

Finger down throat one to balance 'em out?

jingl Tue 10-Jan-12 17:54:02

Sorry! I didn't say that! shock

Butternut Tue 10-Jan-12 17:54:49

grin - Good one, jingl

jingl Tue 10-Jan-12 17:54:57

Yes, I did. evil smile

jingl Tue 10-Jan-12 17:55:52

You're not supposed to like that, buttercup.

jingl Tue 10-Jan-12 17:56:07

I mean butternut!

bagitha Tue 10-Jan-12 17:57:39

Thank you for saying that, butty. I wanted to but couldn't think of the way to do it. I don't do cute, josie. Tell Tech we are snarling at the very suggestion! That could be a useful emoticon too. Grr sometimes isn't quite enough. Bring on the lions.

Butternut Tue 10-Jan-12 18:15:06

I love buttercups, jingl - they remind me of sunshine.....(sunshine emoticon)

jeni Tue 10-Jan-12 18:20:38

I'm with you butty

Butternut Tue 10-Jan-12 18:27:37

Josie, if the christmas hats have been disappeared for the duration, I am sure there is room now for a sunshine emoticon. I am beginning to feel very determined about this.....

bagitha Tue 10-Jan-12 18:33:44

And buttercups are very determined. Did you know that when you see a whole field of buttercups, it's probably one plant?

jeni Tue 10-Jan-12 18:34:13

AGREED give me sunshine ( exit ala morecombe and wise)

GoldenGran Tue 10-Jan-12 18:45:43

Please give us sunshine, we need it,keep on the determination Butternut

GeraldineGransnet (GNHQ) Tue 10-Jan-12 20:52:40

OK, we are definitely hearing you on the sunshine smile

We are slightly feeling a flower is worth a thousand words, or whatever the ads used to say.

Personally, quite like the fingers down the throat, but can just imagine what tech would say if we suggested it. Fingers would be down our throat.

bagitha Tue 10-Jan-12 21:04:12

Guffaw!

bagitha Tue 10-Jan-12 21:04:47

It really was! You know, one of those bursting out ones.

grin

Dare you!

Butternut Tue 10-Jan-12 21:14:34

Geraldine - That's sounding positively hopeful - Dare I hope? smile

Butternut Tue 17-Jan-12 19:07:17

Just bumping - I know you're out there somewhere, sunshine!

Carol Tue 17-Jan-12 19:18:16

What does 'bumping' mean? I haven't seen this expression used till recently
