Has anyone on GN got the right to give private information about you?

Surely not. People on GN should have the right to anonimity, unless they choose to divulge any private information, be it about profession, locality, ethnicity, or whatever.

Secondly, should any information given in a PM be fair game to share to other members? Surely not.

Has anyone mentioned beading and metal smithing yet? My guilty crafting secret is making jewellery.

What a jolly conclusion to this thread. So many of us sharing previously well guarded private information on our secret crafting behaviours

Sorry, Iam64

I'm into fresh water fishing but self identify as an embroiderer. I demand the right to attend all your craft groups, require you all to wear waist high waders to demonstrate solidarity and acceptance and insist that you add FWF onto your ever expanding acronym. Anyone who has a problem with this is a EFWEB.

I'm an EFWEB and proud! So there.

I confess ignorance of nailbinding ๐Ÿ˜ณ

There are over 100 different forms of crafting, which the + signifies.

It was the Viking version of knitting, and still has followers - i keep meaning to learn it, but have enough to do keeping up with my numerous knitted projects and the occasional cross stitch.

Once you start bringing in +, the aims of the original group become diluted, and there are times when the objectives actively conflict. How can Macrame crafters claim to share the problems of tatters, for instance?

I take umbrage at the omission, clearly based on prejudice, of tatting
Surprising given the load of old tat one sometimes has to read.

NATERKs? Rotters to a woman!

What about Nailbinding? Are you being Nailexclusive? Bigots and Nailphobes, the lot of you๐Ÿ˜ก

We'll have no NERK*s under our banners, thank you.

Thank you.

M is the previously mentioned Macrame.

W is my speciality, Woodwork.

I felt it should be there to create a truly inclusive group..๐Ÿ™‚

Please, can someone enlighten me about some of the abbreviations in the wider KCMCSSW+ community. I identify with some - I am KCCSS - but I I don't think I have so far come across any Ms or Ws. Of course, they may all still be in the stash closet.

Bicraftual is only one aspect of the spectrum.

Myself I identify with the wider KCMCSSW+ community.

My self-identified Bicraftual status is based on knitting and cross stitch. I can't crochet, however hard I try - I end up trying to knit with the crochet hook.

I can cross stitch, I have had one on a frame since first lockdown, just haven got round to starting it ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿชก

My mum used to do that Lathyrus.

Lathyrus Mon 19-Dec-22 17:20:37

Or macrame๐Ÿงถ

Smileless2012 Mon 19-Dec-22 17:12:32

Yes I can Blossomingsmile. I was getting so hung up on not being able to crochet and being crap pretty hopeless at knitting, I'd forgotten all about sewing.

Blossoming Mon 19-Dec-22 16:47:26

Iโ€™m not seeing scrubbies but I believe you can loom knit those too. Iโ€™ve made cowls on the loom.

toscalily Mon 19-Dec-22 16:20:24

I see on the same page it shows various scrubbys, perhaps instead of being a loomy I should embrace my inner scrubby.
