I was wondering how many of you have a YouTube channel? And what you watch on them? My friend's daughter was showing me a video of Kinder egg 'unboxing' (a new trend apparently) which she found riveting and I found quite odd!

Forgot one I have subscribed to. Refika's Kitchen. Turkish cookery from her base in Istanbul.

I watch exercises, listen to storytelling channels, bigfoot stories, classics and some recipe channels.

I drop in now and then on the Steamtime live channels. I watch the planes taking off and landing at Lake Hood in Alaska, also the Grand Canal in Venice.

Dave's walks is relaxing. I watched one in the Lake Distric and one on Hadrian's wall.

There are some really good classic al music recordings on YouTube too. I intend watching Nabucco at some time in the near future.

Crochet tutorials are always very useful.

I don't have my own channel. I'm not interesting enough.

I learnt how to retune my Smart TV when the programmes had changed and the TV manual didn't make sense.

...which targeted exercises to do for arthritis in my hip when the ones set by the physio were not helpful.

...how to sex newborn kittens.

.... and probably many other things.

Through YouTube I have learnt -

How to joint a chicken

How to make sourdough bread

How do do exercises for plantar fasciitis

How to help a bitch whelp, and look after her puppies.

You tube has shown me how to mend my dyson, how to draw a dragon and how to pot on an orchid amongst all sorts of useful things.

Thanks for the link. I still don't understand how there are so many thousands of music videos on You Tube but then I'm no expert on how to post on You Tube!

I don't have a YouTube channel in that I don't upload videos (lead a boring life!)

But I am eternally grateful to the lovely people who upload British TV programmes which I can't otherwise get, as I don't live in the UK.

They are also very quick - for example, University Challenge is up on YouTube within half an hour of its being broadcast. The grateful comments underneath come from all over the world.

If you have any problems YouTube is your fried. Of course you will have to access this on your tablet or laptop.
Just search how to access YouTube on your particular tv.

So I’m assuming you have a SMART tv, yes?
On your remote press the Home button. There you will see APPS, press that. A screen should come up with all the Apps.
YouTube, iPlayer, itv hub, amazon prime Netflix etc.
Don’t be worried, you can’t break anything ?

If you have a Smart tv you will have a YouTube channel.

How can you find this?

I should really phone my daughter as this was one of her jobs with Deloitte.
It’s to do with copyright and royalties. You were playing music to the public. You had no right to do that without paying royalties.
Any shop that you go into that is playing music will be paying royalties. This is paid as a licence
In our charity shop we play the radio but have to pay a license fee to do this. www.google.co.uk/search?q=why+do+you+have+to+pay+to+play+the+radio+in+a+charity+shop&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-gb&client=safari

I watch YouTube regularly. I search for sewing advice and projects mostly. Lately, I have been watching Gordon Ramsay in the USA sorting out some really 'interesting' restaurants ? There is also a couple of young guys who edit the best parts from the Airline programme.

My son has his own Youtube channel. But I can't give his details without asking him first so I won't. It's mainly to do with cycling and photography. He also learned to play the guiltar from Youtube videos.
Youtube is wonderful. I was recently thinking about a lot of old films and music hall stars and so used the search box and found loads of them. Anyone remember Hilda Baker, Old Mother Riley, Fred Astaire etc. ? They are all on Youtube.
Almost anything you can think of, search Youtube and you will most likely find it.

I follow quite a few craft and music YouTubers. I also use it when I want to look up how to do stuff. Very useful.

I’m into Crime and investigation and I love to watch the clever detectives interrogating the killer, right now it’s a Police. Niece I terrogTed for murder. This is why I have such little sleep

I have two videos on Youtube, introducing myself and my teaching. They're mortifying and I hate them! But I need them for some of the work sites I'm on.

You put it on a public Channel.

TinyTwo
Everyone and everything is on YouTube. Anything you need to repair, make, find out info on any subject.

What is a public channel? The millions of music videos are surely on a public channel? I can see them, I'm not logged in. I don't understand. Why was my birthday video any different?

Has anyone seen the videos of the ladies who tell stories whilst applying make up from scratch to a freshly scrubbed and moisturised face ? Weirdly addictive.

?? I have ? Not something I look for, just came across them one day. Took a while to work out what was going on.

There are also lots of old TV series posted on YouTube. I’m currently working my way through a whole series of Dharma and Greg posted on a loop. Am I pathetic for admitting that ?!

I love watching the various cooking videos people post - makes a refreshing change from the usual suspects we see on TV. I’ve seen everything from a simple how to boil the perfect egg, to making your own corned beef. For anyone into bread making there are some glorious, detailed video tutorials on YouTube. I recently made Greek flatbread for the first time, following step by step instructions - turned out fab.
