Loving Rev

So few modern comedies make me laugh, but Rev is the exception.

Thought the gay wedding was a riot.

My Godson is a C of E vicar and he tells me the programme is very near to the truth at times.

I'm sure it's very near the truth NanKate it makes you realise how difficult it must be to be a vicar today. How, exactly would you function and what would your position be in society?

I loved last nights episode when the teacher lady piled the rubbish into the yobs' car. Wish I had that sort of courage!

I liked that bit, too, but I'm afraid the series is moving into a more downbeat feeling. I thought kissing the teacher was perfectly understandable but the brainstorm at the unveiling was out of the character created for Adam. The strength of the guilt he felt and the outburst suggest a more serious situation.

It was also unbelievable that the yobs wouldn't have driven away immediately, as they had done previously, instead of obligingly waiting for the return of the rubbish...

Adam is beginning to look a good deal older - in close up. Having known a lot of C of S ministers in my youth, I do find the portrayal convincing.

I loved the previous series, but don't find as many LOL moments this time round.

I am with you there ninathhenana (there are an awful of 'ns' in your name!). I found the first series really fully, but am struggling a bit with this latest one, and although I don not know a lot about a vicar's life, I did feel that the first episode was more believable.

I agree PRINTMISS I think this series is starting to feel a bit 'forced' and not very funny either. The Black character [Mickey?] who turns up at the door asking for money is now quite scary. Why did they have Adoha sleeping in the marital bed and saying 'our baby' to Adam? That was going a bit far, with the character.Adam's wife Alex, seems to want to be drunk all the time [when she now has a much wanted baby.]Hmmmn
