Can't find the old thread.

How silly the Matt storyline is - like the Rob storyline it is OTT. No-one is as villainous as Matt is being portrayed - they have just made him a stereotype of evil and it is ridiculous. I have never met anyone who encapsulates evil to this degree.

Stop it now you crazy scriptwriters and give as some storylines that reflect real life.

About time Jenny!

Elrel Sun 03-Feb-19 14:26:56

Good to hear Joe offering sage advice to both Alistair and Brian.
Had Adam and Ian not realised that there could be gossip ahead when/if they become parents? It looks as if they hadn't considered how their putative child might experience school. And I'm surprised Lee apparently doesn't know about Helen and Rob, Susan can't be gossiping hard enough!

Just what is Natasha after? hmm

Helen needs to get her head out of the sand (again). Henry and Jack's inheritance could be at stake.

I agree about Lee, Elrel. It was all over the national papers and sadly it's not unusual for a village or town to be known for a notorious crime that was committed there.

Bump.

I think this thread is playing up again.

Leonard calling Jill, 'My darling????'

shock

mrshat Sun 10-Feb-19 22:26:00

My thoughts exactly merlot!

Elrel Sun 10-Feb-19 23:49:51

Suddenly we have a speaking Mia who looks out for Poppy and doesn't want to go to Drayton Manor. Emma was really pushing over the trip.
Is Mia going to be having problems via the websites or people she contacting on her phone? How old is she now?

Very moving tonight listening to Elizabeth talking to a counsellor

BradfordLass72 Thu 14-Feb-19 03:46:56

" I have never met anyone who encapsulates evil to this degree."

In that case, you chose just the right name!

AyjayF Thu 14-Feb-19 06:53:40

Excellent episode last night. Elizabeth's therapy session hit just the right note. It was emotional + quite gripping

merlotgran Thu 14-Feb-19 10:42:43

What's the betting Lily drops out of uni to take over the running of LL?

Elizabeth's life laid out in the raw was sad listening. The scriptwriters should never have killed off Nigel. angry

phoenix Fri 15-Feb-19 19:07:53

Does anyone else wonder why Lee doesn't know Helen's back story?

Lazigirl Fri 15-Feb-19 19:08:02

I also think the way they're dealing with Elizabeth's depression is well done and very sensitive.

AyjayF Sun 17-Feb-19 19:52:54

What the heck ? Lily needs to get rid of Russ as soon as possible. He is a freeloader. Wish she'd sort herself out. There must be a local university she could go to.

Elrel Mon 18-Feb-19 18:34:57

Can Nigel come out of the shower now?
Is it me or does Mia have a very different accent from not only her family but everyone in TA? To me it sounds very rural but more West Country than West Midlands.
Also wondering whether Elizabeth should be drinking so much coffee in view of her heart condition. Lily and Russ sound like as if their heading for breakup - good!

Elrel Mon 18-Feb-19 18:35:30

Aargh! they're

Elrel Mon 18-Feb-19 18:38:05

And while I'm here - pyjama parties for Kate and Lilian?? They seem to have been transported to an Enid Blyton book!

AyjayF Mon 18-Feb-19 19:37:28

Ruari's surname is Donovan? What!!??

Lazigirl Mon 18-Feb-19 20:11:11

Ayjay Ruairi's mother was Irish and called Donovan. Brian had an affair with her and when she died prematurely he brought up Ruairi. Looks like the light's gradually dawning for Lily, it's been a slow burn.

FountainPen Sun 24-Feb-19 09:26:15

Elrel. Agreed. The weirdly differing accents used by actors in The Archers for characters who are supposedly from the same family has long been a bit of a joke.

Fictional Borsetshire is said to be set in the contiguous counties of Worcestershire and Warwickshire, south of Birmingham in The Midlands.

This:
www.countryfile.com/go-outdoors/discover-archers-country/

The character of Will Grundy disappeared for a long time. A new actor was cast (the current one) who sounds like he's flown in from Broadchurch.

Any GNers from rural Worcs/Warks can tell us what the accent is like? I imagine it to be more like Eddie Grundy's.

merlotgran Mon 25-Feb-19 19:46:42

Sure as eggs is eggs Natasha's after Bridge Farm.

Tom, you're an idiot!

merlotgran Mon 25-Feb-19 19:48:23

And I'm STILL not seeing the Archers thread on 'Active' angry

mrshat Mon 25-Feb-19 20:20:47

I agree 100% merlot ?

AyjayF Tue 26-Feb-19 07:21:35

Oh no! Natasha is going to be part of the family. Watch out everyone.?

AyjayF Wed 27-Feb-19 20:47:15

Another dodgy character. Where did that van come from??
