Anyone else watch this last night on Channel 5?

Nearly 35 years since she vanished, her poor parents went to their graves never knowing what really happened to her.

Seems like much was missed in the initial investigations.

It was very interesting, her ‘presumed’ murderer, still in prison for a different murder, is up for parole in 2022.

Let’s hope he doesn’t get it.

Yes, I watched it and it was very interesting that leads which may have lead somewhere were ignored. So sad for everyone concerned and it's sickening that the awful supposed guilty party refuses to cooperate.
Remember with Peter Sutcliffe time was wasted looking for a Geordie when women who'd been attacked said that he didn't have that accent but were totally ignored?
Of course we all make mistakes including the police. Now that we have better technology instead of a card index and DNA testing let's hope that leads to better results.

From what I remember he had a string of violent sexual offences against women.

Yes I watched it.
Diana Lamplugh, Suzie's mother, was guest speaker at our daughter's school's speech day around 2001. She spoke very sensibly and sensitively to the girls, but I do remember as a parent feeling very sorry for her.

T he thing that has come across very clearly in this documentary and the Peter Sutcliffe one and the Jeremy Bamber programmes is the way that a senior officer can become so fixated on his own theories that vital evidence is missed or deliberately disregarded.
