Your best ever TV ad? 'Levis in the laundrette' for me!

I see that model Nik Kamen has sadly died.
For me the 1985 Levi's ad, set in the laundrette, to the music of 'Heard It Through the Grapevine' was up there with the finest.
Any other contributions?

Can still remember the Levi ad. - & the coke one.
The other Cinzano ad with Lorraine Chase & Rossiter - "You must have flown in from paradise...."

I love the current Tanqueray ad. Have been known to 're-wind it.

Ditto to the Boddington’s one.
And the one on the canal - ‘That Gladys Althorp - she never buys her own!’
Best ever.
They don’t make them like that any more. ?

" Do you know the piano's on my foot dad" You hum it son and I'll play it.

I liked the Smash ( instant potato) advert when the wee aliens giggle about us , peeling, boiling and mashing potatoes !

A very old Ki-Ora squash ad from the 1980s featuring a cartoon little boy, his dog and a crow! The boy tells the crow that the drink is just for ‘me and my dawg’ whereupon the crow says “I’ll be your dawg’ and follows him barking, all accompanied by a jolly jingle. It struck me and my strange sense of humour as really odd and hysterically funny. No one else did, but for me it reached the absolute heights of TV advertising!! (Wish they’d bring it back...!).

The series of ads (advertising 'TV ads' I believe) with the little dog who had his suitcase packed at the shelter, then later had a stuffed bunny for his best friend, etc. They also had him doing housework around the house. I believe the same dog went on to be in Midsomer Murder's when Neil Dudgeon started. Now I remember - he was called Harvey!!

CurlyMops Fri 07-May-21 11:02:28

I love the 'Should Have Gone to Specsavers' advert where the man shears his dog!!! The look on the poor dog's face .. Haha! Making me laugh just thinking about it! (Assuming no harm came to the dog in the process of making the advert)
