Its been a while since notso corner was in use, maybe now would be a good time.

Come on in........ I am just dusting things down and have the kettle on.

Grey here and lots of the falling damps (normal, then wink) but that means it's a good day for quilting. Hope it dries up for your evening outing with the GCs, glass.

sunshine here

Annobel Fri 18-May-12 09:28:07

When I woke up the weather app on my phone told me it was sunny. It was lying! Now it has caught up and tells me it's raining. It also tells me that the weather will be sunny and warmer on Tuesday. sunshine confused

PS This Norwegian weather site agrees about an improvement next week. It has proved quite accurate in the past:

Wow - do I need this space right now!

Nothing major, just really surprised and a little hurt that a couple of friends are giving me a tough time because I haven't been as available to them as they seem to think I should be.
Let me see........one has just returned from being away on holiday for 2 weeks, but is upset because I haven't 'asked' her to help out yet, and is cross that I delegated to someone else. (I suspect there is some kind of friendship hierarchy issue here - strewth!).

Another, whom I have just popped into see, is feeling miffed because since collecting her from hospital, seeing to her prescriptions, doing her shopping, emailing and telephoning, she has felt abandoned. She knows I'm busy with the W. She is quite capable of phoning me, and driving, and calling in to see me, too.......!

Just getting over a bug, as well, so my patience is well and truly shot!

angry

Nice and peaceful here, isn't it.

Deep breath.....brew

Ariadne Fri 18-May-12 11:51:47

Deep breaths indeed, Butter! Trouble is, that when you are a giver, some people see you as indestructible - bit like being a mother, I suppose? They'll get over it, but let them know what's going on with you, then a bit of empathy might be forthcoming. ((hug))

Butternut Fri 18-May-12 11:56:15

That hug was lovely, Ariadne.

syberia Fri 18-May-12 11:56:58

Butternut (((((hug))))) and flowers

They will get over it!!

whenim64 Fri 18-May-12 12:01:15

They'll come round without water butty! True friends can have a bit of a wobble now and again and then get back on track. Bit hard on you, though, so here's another (((hug))) flowers

Butternut Fri 18-May-12 12:24:58

I've never heard the 'coming around without water' expression before, when - very apt! smile

Nice to see you syberia - haven't seen you around for a while.

soop Fri 18-May-12 12:44:18

Butter So glad to that you, like most of us, let off steam from time to time. You are one of life's good gals. Your pals are well aware of your strengths. They are simply not being cooperative at the mo'. All will be well. You've had so much to attend to, and that dratted bug has left you feeling fragile. Still more (((hugs))) from Kintyre.

Bags Fri 18-May-12 13:05:04

And from me, butty. Good grief! is all I can say really without being rude about the ^%#¥ ?€¥ smile and (hugs) and sunshine. Hope the rest of your bug wanders off very soon!

nanachrissy Fri 18-May-12 15:14:03

Just chill out in here Butty they'll get over it! smile brew cupcake

Butternut Fri 18-May-12 15:25:47

Such good mates on GN! smile. Thank you all. I knew this quiet corner was the right place to be.

Annobel Fri 18-May-12 16:14:27

Poor Butty, these bugs know when you're vulnerable! Your friends will eventually see sense and stop being childish. Keep your chin up!

Ariadne Fri 18-May-12 19:30:18

syberia hi there!

jeni Fri 18-May-12 21:42:02

Well it's bedtime for me!
I find dealing with Adrian Mole types exhausting!
They're so earnest and eager that you should understand!
They can't realise that a 67 year old brain is not as fast as theirs! I do understand, but it takes me longer to assimilate and digest than it used to!

Perhaps it's time I admitted I'm past it and moved into a geriatric home and sat in a circle watching endless boring tv?

Bed! Good nights sleep, and perhaps I'll feel less despondent in the morning?

Goodnight

Butternut Fri 18-May-12 21:47:47

jeni - Not past it at all - just in need of a little break on the QM! grin

Nite nite, and sleep well.

Bags Fri 18-May-12 22:02:59

Night, jeni. brew

Bags Fri 18-May-12 22:03:30

We need a crescent moon emoticon, or something equally nightly.

jeni Fri 18-May-12 22:04:48

Thanks!
May we all be granted a peaceful and tranquil night!

jeni Fri 18-May-12 22:07:15

bags YES,!!!!!!!!!

Butternut Sat 19-May-12 06:37:43

YES!! Great idea B. I'm sure you could lobby for one very successfully! smile

soop Sat 19-May-12 11:27:44

Go on, Bags...you can do it! smile
I meant to mention, that during our visit to Bags's home, we were treated to a tour of her peaceful wild garden with views across the loch. And we were invited to see the room in which she creates beautiful patchwork from interesting samples of textiles. flowers

Last night, I resisted the temptation to sample the GN [extra strong] gin. Saving it for tonight's special treat. wine I ate lots of delicious chocolate instead, and then asked Mr soop to hide it...which he has...and I'm still trying to sniff it out wink

The islands are looking beautiful against a soft blue sky. The wind is less chilly and the sea sparkles. Earlier, walked through a park carpeted with bluebells and wild garlic. Heavenly! sunshine

nanachrissy Sat 19-May-12 11:43:04

Just sitting quietly in a corner here at the moment. Feeling weepy and rather low. I know it will pass if I relax for a while. Going out with my two best friends for lunch so I will no doubt be laughing again soon. sunshine Thank heavens for good friends here and at home. smile
