Do you wear knickers in bed?

Last night I ended up having a rather heated debate with a friend about whether you should wear knickers in bed. She said absolutely not - you should let your 'bits' air. I said yes - because then you don't have to change your pyjamas every singles day and also because it just feels better. Who is right? (Me obviously but interested to know what others think)

The second option, janea smile

I would not dream of wearing knickers in bed, or wearing pyjamas which I have not possessed since I was a child.

Peeing in the shower? Never ever.

I coukdnt sleep nakie but wear as little as possible as I'm always boiling. My ideal bedtime attire is a thin tee shirt and a pair of shorty style knickers. Or if I am feeling posh a little sexy thin nightie.

Mainly nothing, knickers in winter and very occasionally also t-shirt. I'm talking about bed , of course !

Knickers AND PJs. Why?

Eloethan Wed 28-Oct-15 23:04:56

I don't wear anything in bed, except if I go into hospital or we are on holiday in a hotel.

Another knickerless one here too!

Although if I go away or if have to stay in hospital I prefer to wear pjs

Yes as well as a nightie. I feel it's more hygienic. I cringe when I see naturists sitting on a sofa with their bare bottoms

Bellanonna Wed 28-Oct-15 23:20:57

Yuk

Nothing, except pants. The very thought of bare bums on my nice white sheets shock

Envious Wed 28-Oct-15 23:42:01

I still trust my clean bum! thlblush

rosequartz Wed 28-Oct-15 23:47:57

Mine's not bare, I wear a nightie thlgrin (but not a hallowe'en hat)

I start off a bit chilly, especially my feet, and should put the autumn duvet on the bed, but then I wake up in the night feeling very hot!

I'm a shower-pee-er -why ever not? - it all goes down the plughole.

"We stayed unexpectedly at DBandSiL's after a late night with no clothes etc" - interesting ann - what sort of late night party was this? grin

I am coming to the conclusion that we must be especially stingy when it comes to heating as no-one could sleep naked here in the winter - they would freeze!

Elrel Thu 29-Oct-15 10:44:20

Like Jane says, TMI all over this thread!! Hope I forget it all before I meet some of these posters!
I'm not telling you why I wear pants in bed, you'll be relieved to know!

annsixty Thu 29-Oct-15 10:45:12

Luckygirl grin

No to knickers or pjs....too uncomfortable! As dgs says 'my bottom has eaten my pants'!

MamaCaz Thu 29-Oct-15 11:07:39

When my mum bought me my first nightie, when I was about eight (it was always PJs before that), she noticed that I'd put knickers on under it, and laughingly told me that you didn't wear knickers with a nightie. I was very embarrassed, and needless to say have never worn the two together since!

TriciaF Thu 29-Oct-15 11:18:47

Our bedroom is very cold we have the window open in all weathers. So I wear knickers in bed, socks too sometimes.

Nannanoo Thu 29-Oct-15 11:29:59

I wear nothing in bed, but full-length dressing gown and nightshirt are within easy reach in case of fire/burglars/loo visits/other emergencies.
If I am in hospital, I wear knickers and modest nightwear - not keen on people seeing my skinny bum! grin

harrigran Thu 29-Oct-15 11:42:38

If you sleep naked every drop of moisture is absorbed into your sheet and mattress, multiply that by two for the occupants in the bed. Assuming that mattresses are renewed once every ten years that is one disgusting mattress. I wear pjs but only use a summer weight duvet even in the winter.

Tegan Thu 29-Oct-15 11:52:49

That's my reason for wearing pyjama and it annoys me that the S.O. won't wear them when he stays.

MaryXYX Thu 29-Oct-15 12:36:15

I wear a nightie and knickers in the warmer weather and pajamas (without knickers) in winter.

So my answer is - it depends.

David1968 Thu 29-Oct-15 12:41:04

I never never wear knickers in bed! Just a soft cotton nightie - and I often take that off when I get hot. But I often wear knickers with a nightie if pottering around the house - just more comfy. I'm glad that dgd doesn't wear knickers with her pyjamas either - best for children not to be obsessive about such things? I think its healthier to be less "constricted" - but it has to be a personal choice, I guess.
