All most daily you see a post from either Gransnet or Mumsnet being used as a "story" by one of the newspapers or news feeds. Does this chance of being outed put you off posting things sometime? Or do you think it is a chance worth taking?

Nope. I don't read the 'news'papers that publish such trips. Plus, I'd never put anything on a public site I was ashamed of or worried would become 'news'paper fodder.

No one would be interested in the rubbish I write. And I'm wary these days as there are some scary people about.
"Teatime Trotsky's"... I love that grin

How did you find this thread from AUGUST....

I cannot think of anything I might write on GN that would cause me any problem. One knows when one signs up that it is not closed site and is available for anyone to read. I haven't chosen a user name that immediately identifies me to anybody.

So what is there to worry about?

Actually if the papers chose to write up threads where we are responding to a subject in a way that older people are not expected to, I would consoder it a very good thing.

Our derisive response to that poster claiming a 15 year old had a wardrobe full of sex toys, for example. Nobody was shocked, worried about the younger generation, just laughed at the juvenile(whatever their age) poster.
