For example,we usually meet at a local cafe 5 minutes from home. This morning one lady changed the venue to a trendy cafe in town meaning having to drive and park.
The noise was unbearable both from the coffee machines and the acoustics.Service was poor and the coffee was cold. We couldn't hear each other over the noise and I felt so relieved to get home. No one else complained.

Absolutely agree about dogs being on very long leads or loose. The dog may be lovely but i freeze in terror ! I was attacked as a child and it stayed with me.

I would hate that too. I swear that in some places the staff just wait until you sit down then start banging the metal thing with the coffee grounds as hard as they can.

I mention it to people and they say “they have to do that, it’s a posh machine, it’s quite usual.” Err no, it’s not. Surely there is something they can do to lessen the noise. It is just not right in a relaxing environment.

Multi storey parking for the first time in a new one stresses me no end. Once I have done it once I am OK.

Also putting air in the tyres. The bending and then trying to see the numbers on the machine. Sometimes in bad weather and trying to hurry before it stops.

I would pay someone to do it for me. I must ask a friend who I heard got the chap in the Quick Fit tyre place to do it for her. Don't know if as a one off or if she paid or tipped and has been back regularly.

Strange to see. Well the value to stress vary from person to person. I mostly enjoy at coffee shops or cafeterias. I feel stress mostly due to workload and study. Whenever I feel this stress I take lexapro. One Of my friend recommend me wellbutrin. If you want to read their difference, give a read at itsmyownway.com/wellbutrin-vs-lexapro-a-guide-to-your-anxiety-medication-options/.

Those tiny packets of sugar that coffee shops and cafes serve, is this health and hygiene gone mad? What happened to sugar cubes and tongs! If, like me, you need several packets because there is so little in them, by the time you've got them all open the coffee has gone cold.

I think some people do this because they are nervous or lonely. I don't like it Siope but don't find it stressful.

Driving at night especially a stretch of road which is unfamiliar. As I am not the only one, we usually now arrange to meet friends for lunch rather than dinner.

sodapop Fri 19-Jan-24 17:47:45

We do that now Siope our social life is centred around lunch rather than an evening meal or afternoon performances at the cinema etc.

Gales especially overnight. I live in an exposed area and the wind can be very damaging. I hate it when it swirls round the house and the loud the buffeting noises.
I think other people here notice it but don't loose sleep or feel as nervous as I do.

HelterSkelter1, the garage who do my servicing put air in my tyres for free and with pleasure. I simply call up and ask for this and we arrange a day and time that suits them. It's usually at the end of their day and takes ten minutes while I wait in reception. Worth a try? They can only say no or offer you a minimum charge. I very much hope they will do neither.

Wind chimes outside a house. Our new neighbours have just hung some up. And it’s very windy tonight. And I have very acute hearing.

No one has mentioned air conditioning in shopping malls. There is a particular area in my local one where its so annoying. Cold air blowing makes my eyes water and my nose needs blowing often. I'm cold too. I don't think there is any need for air conditioning in our country in winter. Even in summer I hate it

polomint Thu 28-Mar-24 23:00:05

And yes I do find it stressful. I agree with there is too much noise in cafes which is stressful trying to hear a conversation. Plus the noise of those coffee machines drives me mad!

Checking in online for a flight. I‘ve no problem with anything else online, but putting in those names, dates of birth and passport details, then checking, re-checking and checking again brings me out in a cold sweat. Especially when I get constant offers of help popping up from the website and blocking half the screen, probably because I’m taking so long the system thinks I might have expired in the middle of the process….

Interesting how many people find noise, be it loud music, loud speech, or loud anything, really stressful.
I find at the moment, the thing that stresses me the most is when my daughter rings me and is upset and crying because she’s going through a difficult divorce and lives in another country. I guess other people would find that stressful too to be honest. If I have a difficult conversation with her and she’s crying, I can’t sleep afterwards because I want to make it better and I can’t. I think I’m quite stressed about the whole situation all the time to be honest.

When a recipe states the word 'delicious' in the title or a picture of a portion of food on a plate with a 'fork' next to it.

New technologies/roadworks etc designed without thinking about the users.

Trying to comment or complain about goods/service is so challenging. What happened to the customer is always right?

Seeing bikes on pavements. Including electric bikes! It's the norm now.

BlueBelle Fri 29-Mar-24 06:39:13

Not knowing where the nearest loo is coach journeys for same reason

Greyduster Fri 29-Mar-24 07:10:11

Going anywhere unfamiliar in my car. I might as well be driving off the edge of the known world! I have been known to spend days agonising about routes. Yes I have a sat nav. My is full of “what ifs” these days. Hopeless case.

Cabbie21 Fri 29-Mar-24 07:13:15

Noise levels just before singing in a concert. The choir assembles in a room with a low ceiling and everyone is talking instead of resting their voices. The noise gets louder and louder and I want to put my hands over my ears.

Airports. Hate them. Especially the po faced staff who absolutely always seem to want to frisk me. I feel like complaining but they would probably make life difficult re boarding so I don’t. I once pointed out that we don’t go through all that to get on a bus or train.
