Things you find stressful that other people don't notice.

My stress levels have increased considerably as I’ve aged insofar as my husband’s driving! I have turned out to be a shocking back seat driver”, and I hate it as much as he does 😬 I love driving, so I always offer to be the driver but, as one member mentioned, driving to new places - especially in the dark - doesn’t do me any favours either.

I'm not sure why, but I find having to listen to people who over do their accents really winds me up. Paddy McGuinness hasn't lived in Bolton for years, but puts on a ridiculously heavy Bolton accent on TV and Radio. Same with Alex Jones on the One Show. Her Welsh accent never used to be so over emphasised in previous years. And I love a Welsh accent .
Why do they do that?

Agree mumski and also find my teeth on edge when an accent or way of speaking is mimicked; I guess it's a way of fitting in but it doesn't sound right to me.

My main mini-stress is when people 'hover' in the kitchen when I'm cooking. I'm fine with people cooking alongside on the worksurfaces or sitting at the table for a chat, but someone leaning up against the sink makes my stress levels hit the roof.

Currently got the family staying with us and am having to be on constant alert for Easter chocolate left around where my dog can get to it. Just found some in a box under a coffee table ( actually it was my dog that found it but thankfully I was in the same room) and some more on a shelf that is within reach. They know chocolate is poisonous to dogs. Along with the front and back doors being left open one of us is having to be with the dog the whole time.

mumski I feel that way about John Bishop the comedian. He didn’t grow up in Liverpool, but in Cheshire, albeit with Liverpudlian parents and anyone who knows, can hear the overworked scouse accent, grrr.

Some people exaggerate their regional accent , because they are fashionable .
I've spent a lot of time in Cheshire and Liverpool and thought that John Bishop's accent was a bit fake .
I feel the same about Helen Skelton .
But I can't help laughing at the two sisters with really strong Leeds accents on Googlebox .

Passwords , Having to change them at every turn is really stressful.
Keeping track of them as well is which is equally stressful.

TV is fine until you get visitors. I'm having to train him indoors that we should be chatting to our visitors not having to shout above the tv, or 'me' being too easily distracted by the tv!!
I have ADD as it is.

Loud music in shops and cafés drives me bonkers! You go in for a quiet browse or cuppa and get a headache from all the shouting you have to do to maintain a 'quiet' conversation or transaction!

Him indoors has a loud talking voice. I guess being the eldest of 5 and having to look after them while parents worked led to that. But I have to get him to lower his voice in all sorts of places!
Heavens forbid if he ever needs to quietly whisper something 😆

Flashing lights GGGRRRRRRRR - that's all I'm saying on that subject!!

life seems to be so noisy these days those damn coffee machines that hiss loudly then that awful banging the baristas do to empty the coffee. makes my mum's old percolator seem quiet by comparison! I cannot remember the last time you could have a conversation in a cafe what with music coffee music shouted conversations on mobile phones awful

People who eat as if they're going for the Speed-Eating category in the Guinness Book of Records, if there is one!

.......and, when you're with someone in a restaurant and they look at your plate and say "oh, that looks nice......d'you mind if I just......?" and attempt to spear the best bits on your plate! No, no, no you greedy bugger.

I've started dreading using a car park. It's all Apps now and I get flustered with them.

I am a singer, so music is not just something on in the background, and I dont like the continuous music, whether it is something I like in itself or not. But my "teeth gritting" thing is someone filing their nails near me. Dont know why it gets to me but I will move away if possible, or try to ignore it but somehow it gets through any other sounds to me.

I don't mind driving on motorways when they're quiet, but I get edgy when you're stuck between a pair of lorries and can't overtake and Mr Scania is up your back. The M6 is particularly bad south of Lancaster and not a drive I do very often.

Music being played or people singing out of tune.
