What are you knitting at the moment?

I'm really enjoying knitting a wrap/shrug - it is basically a long, wide, scarf which is the crossed over at the front, and the two long edges are sewn together at the back for about 6 inches, forming the back and triangular armholes (if that makes sense). Here's the pattern showing the front smile:

It is a lacy pattern repeated over 12 rows and I am knitting it in a soft multi-coloured wool (not spangly as in the pattern). I have visions of it keeping me warm over a long sleeved t-shirt and under a jacket.

What are other knitters busy with?

A huge pink florescent scart. I did not know what elso to do with the yarn

Hi all - Margaret is kindly sending me the written version of her gilet pattern in the post, and I will post it on this thread.

Ethel is it a cross between a skirt and a scarf? (Only pulling your leg) smile

My iPad was the best and worst thing that ever happened to me. At least I used to get on with my knitting and get things finished, but not anymore. Last Saturday I bought a load of chunky yarn at the craft shop to make myself a winter sweater, not even looked at it since I brought it through the door

Glitterknitbaby - it's not the iPad itself, it's what you find on here grin
Sweater still not finished (bored with it now though) and longing to start something else.

Jalima1108 you are so right, so many interesting things on here. I did finish all my Christmas projects, the last one on the 2nd January, luckily the friend it was for didn’t visit until the 3rd! Apart from the chunky wool waiting to be started on, I’m just finishing a prem baby jacket, just before Christmas I took 40 prem baby hats to the local maternity unit.

Well done. Who knows if anyone will want this sweater, it may go off to a charity. If I ever finish it that is.

Ethel smile.

Oh - Isee my first attempt at posting the pic worked, it was just slow!

Auntieflo Sun 14-Jan-18 19:14:51

Grannyknot, I love the knitting cat, especially as he can knit with his eyes closed. Clever boy.

Jalima1108 Sun 14-Jan-18 23:33:48

He can come and finish all my UFOs (unfinished objects)

Halfway through a Gryffindor scarf for my friend's daughter! Have a feeling this won't be the last Harry Potter themed project ha!

goldengirl Wed 17-Jan-18 13:05:54

Love the knitting cat! It's the smile on its face.
I'm using up odd balls of wool at present and trying out making 'flowers'. I spend more time undoing knitting rather than finishing it confused but I do enjoy it.

Hi everyone! Margaret's gilet pattern has arrived in the mail! smile Complete with a photograph. And it is lovely. As soon as I get a chance I will put it on this thread.

Thank you, Margaret.

I have been reading about a 'temperature blanket' where you knit one row every day for a year of a colour which relates to the temperature.

Just finished knitting a tiny waistcoat (and it is tiny!) for a friends great grandchild due soon.

A couple of posters on here expressed an interest in Margaret's gilet pattern and she sent it to me in the post, so I have uploaded it. Here it is in case of interest:

Baby hats so far, am still knitting up my excess of white wool. Just need to find out where to send them now.

Lynnebo Tue 30-Jan-18 11:06:38

I've just finished this hat. If I did it again I would try and organise the colored wool so it wasn't so dark at the bottom ...

Jalima1108 Tue 30-Jan-18 16:37:12

It's very nice Lynnebo, did it self-pattern is that a complicated pattern?

Jalima1108 Tue 30-Jan-18 16:38:57

Where are you Auntieflo? Premature baby units at most hospitals will be glad of them I think, they are lovely too.
