Naughty knitting (⚠ not for the easily shocked)

The information I have found so far soop; a GG in Forres knits pipers and similar Scottish patterns for hospital charities in her area but no mention of added appendages were shown! ? The figures she knits are taken from Jean Greenhowe patterns.

Nudinits' book does have patterns for Bernard and one of the ladies, but not any others. It is mostly about the village of Woolly Bush. The piper isn't a Nudinits character, unfortunately. Maybe some clever person could add some clothes and bagpipes to Bernard?

Soop I did a bit of sleuthing, and he is hiding in the Etsy shop:

It seems to be a "Jean Greenhowe" pattern. I do knit, but I also can't be doing with fiddling with bits ...

I thought of Jean Greenhowe as soon as I saw the Nudinits figures. Perhaps one of Jean Greenhowe's charcters coud be adapted? They are qute small so it could all get quite intricate.

I think the Scotsmen in question are made from Jean Greenhowe's Great-Uncle Angus, with anatomical detail added. I could be wrong, but I don't think he is entire in Jean Greenhowe's original version.

Well, it would only take a bit of extra yarn to knit the extra appendages, wouldn't it? And tiny needles.

I found the JG pattern book on Amazon - for over £17! Not that I want to make it, just idle browsing.

If anyone is thinking of making it, with the additions, I have in my stash some pink which I don’t think I shall ever use - a dusky sort of pink with a blue-ish tinge, perfect for wind-chilled dangly bits.

Witzend I think we should stick to knitting Nativity Scenes don't you? much more tasteful!!

When you get to our age, life is too short to always be tasteful. A good belly laugh is good for the endorphins and keeps us from depression - and nineteen out of twenty of those laughing at this and asking where they can find the knitting pattern will never actually buy a pattern and wool and do it.

Elegran you are so right. Belly laughs seem to get fewer as the years march on, so I really enjoy it when something makes me laugh.

The OP did just that, plus it highly amused others in my knitting group.

fevertree I may reconsider. Wish to goodness that I was capable of knitting this myself. I started knitting a scarf in 1970, it was about a mile long before I worked out how to cast off the stiches. We can't all be domestic goddesses.

MissAdventure That would mean paying a total of £55 for a gift that won't be the main item. I've also to organise a meal out for a few friends and, since Covid has put an stop to my weekly ironing job, I won't be able to earn a few extra quid. I'm far too aged to stand on the street corner and tout for business. Even with my elbow crutch, I'm prone to falling flat on my face and have a hell of a struggle raising myself from the pavement. Do you get the picture.
