I'm blowing my own trumpet here but I am very proud of my first foray into cross stitch.
I have actually made three unicorns, two ballet dancers and one Harry Potter. These are for six of my granddaughters. I really hope they like them.

Thank you for your interest and here are a few photo's of my museum piece cross stitch. It took many hours of enjoyable stitching.

Wow I am so impressed travelnan, that must have taken a very long time to do. Maybe, with lots of practice I could produce something as beautiful.

I should have another go at a Christmas or birthday card!

Did you use a frame, travelnan?
That is indeed a heritage piece, simply exquisite.

They are lovely. You have such patience, a lot more than me!

This is one my Dad did. It's a rubbish photo because it's behind glass.

travelnan your museum piece is fabulous. I cannot imagine just how many hours of time you devoted to it.
growstuff the house is delightful. So perfectly proportioned, very pleasing to look at. Reminds me of a vintage jigsaw puzzle I have which is a similar style and subject.

travelnan your work is stunning I take my hat off to you I can’t imagine the hours you put in. Will you frame it?

The house too is so intricate and lovely what a clever man your Dad was.

Lovely, growstuff

Here is the Triumph motorbike I did for my brother's 60th. I didn't iron it before framing as I wanted it to look old. It's a 1959 model . Hope this works.

Other people's work is wonderful. May backs are always messy but the fronts are ok .

What lovely work you have all done. It’s such a relaxing hobby. I took up cross stitch 5 years ago when I had nightmare neighbours and needed something to calm me down. I’ve done about 17 now, and the photos are of 2 that I particularly enjoyed making, plus my Christmas robin cushion.

Lovely work Sara53.
I used to do a lot of cross stitch but have been doing a lot of knitting and crochet lately.
I find one of those neck lights with lights on both ends really good for craft work and I also have a magnifier with lights that clips onto my working surface or embroidery frame.

Beautiful - well done you. I used to love counted crossstitch but, sadly, my eyesight isn't good enough now

I love doing cross stitch. A Danish friend started me off and I then made an Advent calendar. I joked it would be inherited by the first grandchild. Fourty years later it is still used by DD for her family tradition but I had to make a second one for DS's children. I also made a birth one for each of my four grandchildren. They are still hanging in their bedrooms although the eldest, GS, age 10 did say it was a little babyish so could I make him a Star Wars or Harry Potter one!

Oldbutstilluseful Sat 28-Nov-20 11:21:08

Thank you polnan. That’s so kind. I know from your posts that you are struggling and can really empathise. Cross stitch has been my saviour and I really hope you can find something to help you through the tough times. ? for you.

This is my latest effort, a birth sampler - I’ve scribbled out the name for anonymity. I’m loving seeing all your pictures!! Such a lovely pastime!!

Very lovely. My MIL was brilliant at this and she produced works of art in cross stitch. Beautiful christening tapestries too for our kids to treasure. Lovely to have these as she's no longer here.

Oldbutstilluseful your work puts mine to shame. Anyway here's a cushion I did for my daughter who does yoga.

Thank you for posting pictures of your own beautiful cross stitch creations. I can see I have a long way to go to catch up ??.
