Hi all

I’ve just finished the Alaska hat pattern which I downloaded from a link on the internet. Thank you for looking and I hope you like it. Stay safe. ?

I just posted saying how I like that and zoomed up to see the trees! But it didn't appear so repeating!!!

It's beautiful. Never thought I'd say this - pity the weather's warming up ?

So clever. Thank you for sharing. It's always good to see what others have achieved.

Thank you for your kind words. It wasn’t too difficult as I have done a lot of Fairisle in the past. It’s knitted using King Cole Bramble DK wool with some black DK that I had in my stash box.

I know what you mean about the weather warming up. I knit so much more in the colder months. In the warm summer days I tend to go back to my watercolour painting. Have a lovely weekend and please stay safe. ?

Truly a work of art .

That's lovely Pixie and looks very complicated. Plus, I think it takes a great deal of patience to make a pom-pom. I recall making them as a child with circular pieces of cardboard and getting a bit fed up with them towards the end as the smaller the hole got in the middle the harder it became to push the wool through.

Hi [PurplePixie], what a beautiful hat, well done!

Would you mind if I asked which of the Bramble shades you used, was it Haze?

Thank you x

It was Loganberry. Beautiful wool.

I've found a quicker way to do pom poms. Thread the wool on a darning needle and put the wool through with that. Much quicker. Oh and double the wool on the needle.

I am loving this thread. smile

I have pompom makers, little bits of plastic that you can use again and again.

I love that yarn!

LindaPat Mon 03-May-21 14:01:15

PurplePixie thank you x

Purplepixie Mon 03-May-21 15:33:53

Your welcome. ?

Callistemon Mon 03-May-21 16:05:17

I love that hat! Very clever, lovely yarn.

I can't knit or crochet in the hot weather; it's like winter again today though.

Those pompom makers look better than the ones I bought from Lidl, the pompom I made was pathetic.

Callistemon Mon 03-May-21 16:07:08

I must not buy more yarn

Gorgeous hat purplepixie, you’re very talented.

I like the look of those pompon thingies Algerias, I may have a look for them to make with the DGDs.

Purplepixie, what a lovely hat! Is it a Ravelry pattern? I've seen something similar there. It looks complicated. When I was younger I used to enjoy Scandinavian patterns and my Mum was good with Fairisle. Not sure if I am up to the challenge now!
