These three pieces have been accepted for the show. They are entries from three well know comedians.
What do you think ?

Im going as my nephews son (12) has a picture exhibited there! It is a tribute to Jurgen Klopp!

How wonderful Glenfinnian You must be so proud. A work with a lot of love and integrity I would think. Even if the artist is only 12. Well done to him 👏👏👏

This year's show has not been received well by critics. I have never been but really must try to go this year.

I am often amazed at the prices some of these sorts of work command. And yet, on the Antiques Road Show, there are sometimes some beautiful old paintings which, although the valuers say they are worth a lot of money, only command a few hundred pounds, rather than thousands of pounds.

I’m shamelessly old fashioned in my artistic preferences. I love a Titian or a Canaletto, Vermeer or Rembrandt. Even Impressionism is a step too far, although I can see the artistic merit. These attempts pictured here are just daubs to me, but there again so is a Picasso! Art is very subjective and there are no right or wrong ways to appreciate it. The so called ‘experts’ who tell us what is good or bad are generally too concerned with their own reputations to be really in touch with those outside their rarefied world!

I’m going in a couple of weeks so I’ll report back. Critics are all well and good but if you were to read, say, four reports they would all say something different! I think I’ve already said that I bought a print from the exhibition. I was sent a link to the exhibits and loved one of them. They are all sold now.

Shameless boasting. My DD and her DD ( my GD) both have paintings in this year’s RA show.

Could we see them vegansrock? I’m sure you have every right to be proud! ☺️

That was meant to be a proud face but it looks a bit odd! Sorry.

Thanks for your interest damaskrose My DDs one is called “Marked Card” and it’s inspired from a vintage family photo, my DGD (aged 16)’s one is a portrait of her Dad called “Father figure”. I’m sure the traditionalists won’t like them , but DDs one has sold, DGDs one is not for sale.

How talented they are. You must be very proud.

It's made me think about going to the Summer Exhibition as I haven't been since before the pandemic.
