It's back!

Starting on Tuesday 15th July at 9 pm.

Lathyrus3 Thu 03-Jul-25 11:55:41

Who’s the non-sewing presenter?

I couldn’t watch when it was Sarah Pascoe
I think it was her.

Sparklefizz Thu 03-Jul-25 12:53:36

I think Sara Pascoe will be back according to the photo online. sad

Lathyrus3 Thu 03-Jul-25 13:20:45

Oh no. She ruined it.

shysal Thu 03-Jul-25 13:33:47

Yippee! There is little on TV that I enjoy at the moment.
I too dislike Sarah as presenter, but I shall still watch. I know many will disagree, but I liked Claudia the best.

Magenta8 Thu 03-Jul-25 13:40:07

It is going to be Kiell Smith-Bynoe presenting, according to the Radio Times.

Lathyrus3 Thu 03-Jul-25 13:47:38

Excellent😁

Ilovecheese Thu 03-Jul-25 14:17:17

Love the needle and thread symbols. Looking forward to the programme. I especially like the little diagrams showing how the garments in the pattern challenge should be assembled.

I think the ‘comedian’ whoever it is totally spoils it for me
They are so unnecessary and irritating

Grannybags Thu 03-Jul-25 14:33:06

Yippee!

I don’t think they need any ‘comedian’ presenter either

Ditto.

Yahooooooo I’m so looking forward to it.

Great to hear. Looking forward to this.

According to the BBC's official Sewing Bee website, it is Sarah Pascoe - she's also pictured in all the press release photos - see below -

Role
Presenter- Sara Pascoe
Judge - Esme Young
Judge - Patrick Grant

NanKate Sat 05-Jul-25 15:30:01

I’ll be watching. 😀

BlueBelle Sat 05-Jul-25 15:39:09

I ll be watching, but shutting my ears to Sarah Pascoe I don’t dislike her but she’s totally surplus and unnecessary

Other than Claudia, who for me, is the ultimate presenter, they've all been superfluous to requirements.

I found it difficult to watch when it became the

All About Me Me Me - Joe Lycett Show

MickyD Sun 06-Jul-25 13:42:05

I can’t wait smile.

It’s not the co-presenters that annoy me, it’s the awful ‘funny’ lines that they’ve been given. They’re so corny and unfunny but I absolutely love the programme.

Stella14 Sun 06-Jul-25 13:45:49

It’s back on my birthday 😀
I love it despite finding Esme saying she doesn’t care about the sewing, just the originality (AKA unwearable silliness).

Magenta8 Sun 06-Jul-25 13:52:53

It definitely is Sara Pascoe for 2025 but the Radio Times is still showing a picture of Kiell, with the two judges, that was posted on 2 July 2025 as introduction to Sewing Bee 2025.

Lathyrus3 Sun 06-Jul-25 14:04:26

I don’t think I can bear to watch Sara Pascoe. She was actually quite nasty to the contestants, sneering and belittling, the n order to get her “funny” persona to the fore.

I thought Kiel was genuinely interested in them and their creations.

BBC seem to latch into people, and give them slots whether theyre any good or not.

Suzysues Sun 06-Jul-25 14:05:01

Yay! I love Sewing Bee. I also like Sara Pascoe 😆

lizzypopbottle Sun 06-Jul-25 14:11:20

MickyD I wish they hadn't turned it into a cringeworthy comedy show. Patrick Grant comes over so embarrassingly wooden when delivering his lines. I suppose the sewing community is a small audience so they have to try to appeal to a wider viewer base. I'll still watch it but from behind a cushion!

MirandaIV Sun 06-Jul-25 14:48:44

I loved it at the beginning when you had some really skilled contestants. However, every year we have to have at least two obligatory gay people who can’t sew and to be honest most of the rest don’t have much skill or talent either. The making of clothes out of rubbish is pointless. Are we looking for wacky arty designers or good sewers?
I totally agree that the comedians are irritating as hell. Why can’t we just showcase skilled people?

Granra2 Sun 06-Jul-25 14:52:20

Agree Bluebelle
I couldn’t stand Joe Lycett. Claudia is the ultimate professional.
