Girl Guide leader expelled from post.

A Girl Guide leader was expelled from her post for objecting to Guide policy that boys who identify as girls are accepted as being female in all circumstances, including shared sleeping and washing arrangements on Guide camps.

Do you think Guides are correct to have this policy?

To those saying "They're only children. What's the problem?"
here is a link from 2018 on the increase in peer-to-peer sexual harassment and sexual assault, including among quite young children.

In the past if a girl saw someone with a penis in the girls showers she could run and tell a leader without being either disciplined, or worse, "re-educated" and told that being a girl is defined by what you wear and how girly you act and not your biology.

Oh and the girl's parents probably wouldnt be told that the incident took place at all to protect the boy's transgirls privacy..

trisher, until very recently, a man who was found out claiming to be a woman and being a Guide Leader would immediately have been expelled from the post.
Now, they are being invited in without the knowledge of most of the girls and parents involved.

People may well be doing all sorts of things that they ought not to do.
That doesn't mean that even more people should be encouraged to do the same.

Of course not Gonegirl.
I assumed there must be some posts on that thread, to which you objected, and that you might like to draw them to GNers' attention.

I only saw posts concerned about safety and the right to privacy and to Guides being a single sex organisation.

If FarNorth comes back to this thread, I would love to have an answer to my question of 16.27 today. Please!

We do notice but have been too polite to say. I know 3 transwomen, and with the best will in the world, not a single one passes but we're too kind to say.

They're all at least 6ft tall, have large hands and feet, no waist and their jaws and brow ridges are more prominent. They also still behave in many ways like men because of all their years of male socialisation.

Trust me - we know

trisher Thu 08-Aug-19 21:03:36

Of course there may have been men identifying as women amongst us for a long time without any one noticing! They may lead Guide groups. After all how would you know?

DameJudyClench Thu 08-Aug-19 17:44:26

Precisely @notanan2 ! I'm so furious at people who spout half-cocked opinions without doing the research.

They may be happy for men to give our hard won rights away, but I'm not!

Intersex people are also unhappy that they are now being sent to gender clinics just in order to obtain the HRT they need to treat their condition thanks to transactivists hijacking them to suit their narrative!

DameJudyClench Thu 08-Aug-19 17:32:25

For those at the back - intersex people are either male or female. It is extremely rare that anyone is considered both sexes.

Having spoken to several intersex people over the last year or so, they are utterly sick of being used to prop up trans ideology. And why the LGBTQ alphabet soup now contains I for intersex, is s bloody mystery considering that it isn't even a sexuality, it's a medical condition.

Nobody can change sex and there is sex segregation for a reason. Not telling parents that they're allowing male bodied persons who identify as female into intimate spaces with their daughters is lying by omission and tells you everything you need to know about how much GG really cares about your daughters and granddaughters. AKA sod all!

Gonegirl Thu 08-Aug-19 16:31:03

If not, who are "us"?

Gonegirl Thu 08-Aug-19 16:27:36

Quoting FarNorth ^If you saw any objectionable posts that you'd like us to know about, please let us know what they were.*

Eh???!! Are you one of them (MNHQ? confused

Alexa Thu 08-Aug-19 13:07:27

FarNorth if you take my writing on this issue seriously you risk being as confused about the whole situation as I am myself.

FarNorth Wed 07-Aug-19 23:28:44

Alexa you're really getting me confused now.

Gonegirl, that MN thread has 31 pages so I haven't read it all.
All the posts I saw were expressing concern for the safety of girls, and their right to have a single-sex group be just that.
If you saw any objectionable posts that you'd like us to know about, please let us know what they were.

I had written:
"I'd think the danger of men dressing up as girl guides so as to lust after them or rape them in ablutions and changing rooms, is worse than the questionable disadvantage of educating the sexes together."

FarNorth, I gather the problem with trans sex people who had once been men and are now women still look rather like men . Someone who is actually a man could pretend to be a trans man and gain access to women's ablution rooms and women's toilets.

notanan2 Tue 06-Aug-19 22:25:23

Newsflash: there are transwomen out there who live openly and happily as transwomen without claiming rights to female only spaces. It is not essential to their existance.

FarNorth Tue 06-Aug-19 21:14:57

I found another thread on Mumsnet, started by the person featured in the Daily Mail article at the start of this thread.
She is not Helen Watts, or 'Agnes Baden Powell' and she says :
"I appealed and the former Chief Guide who held the appeal concluded that I had not breached social media guidelines (I should jolly well hope not given that 9 people saw my post!) but that I was still refusing to follow GG policy (I gave the same statement - safeguarding comes first)."

She had posted in a very small private facebook group, not publicly, and did not breach social media guidelines.

FarNorth Tue 06-Aug-19 21:08:28

I had not already read that thread Gonegirl. Thank you for the link.

FarNorth Tue 06-Aug-19 20:46:25

I wonder how any of you would feel if your much loved grandsons were effectively seen as a safeguarding risk if he decides he is more comfortable in a girls' skin

I would see my much-loved grandson as being just as much of a safeguarding risk, whatever he decided.- i.e. I'd hope he wasn't a risk but safeguarding needs to be applied regardless.

Safeguarding also protects against false accusations, by the way.

Good news all round!

notanan2 Tue 06-Aug-19 20:07:09

If you dont believe in single sex organisations, why chose one for your trans identifying boy? Why not just chose scouts?

Lessismore Tue 06-Aug-19 20:04:33

What a load of complete nonsense. Children( yes the clue is in the name) should be left alone to have fun. Some may be a little " different" T'was ever thus. Leave them alone.

notanan2 Tue 06-Aug-19 19:44:44

So you take a boy who may be struggling with masculine stereotypes, or finding puperty difficult. And you stick them on puperty blockers and say "there now youre a girl! All fixed" and insist they get into guides so that their gender is "affirmed"....
.... well those problems that caused them to be uncomfortable in their skin in the first place are still there under the surface. And will pop up again.

notanan2 Tue 06-Aug-19 19:38:10

Autistic children often have a particularly hard time coping with puberty.

But instead of this being properly understood and supported, they are getting referred to gender clinics.

notanan2 Tue 06-Aug-19 19:35:25

www.transgendertrend.com/lesbian-detransitioner-must-question-primary-solution/

Children are being chemically castrated. Having their future fertility affected. And encouraged to mutilate their bodies.

A disproportionate amount of teens who are being funnelled into "gender affirming" medications and surgeries are on the autistic spectrum.

It is so wrong

notanan2 Tue 06-Aug-19 19:32:32

How long before we have adults saying they were misled over this and wish they had never changed sex.

This is already happening!
Bath Spa University but a stop on research by a surgeon who is seeing an increase in people requesting detransition surgery. Reason: it might cause certain groups to campaign against the university!

There are HORRIFIC side effects to women taking Testosterone, hair loss being one of the less serious ones. These side effects are being played down to teens who feel uncomfortable in their skin and believe the hype that taking "T" will make everything magically better!
