In my youth I was often likened to Sarah Ferguson, but with dark brown hair. I also had/have some of her personality traits - the good ones I'm sure. wink. When I look in the mirror I believe I can see the resemblance.

So who have you been likened to and do you agree?

I looked like Pam Ayres, the poet. Often asks for autographs - no selfies in those days!

In the late 80’s, a friend’s husband said I looked like Sharon Maughan (wife of Trevor Eve) and remembered for the Nescafé Gold Blend TV ad with Anthony Head. Sure I never looked that glamorous! ?

I was told I look like Julie Walters. Being a Brummie, I sound like her too.
In my teens I was told I looked like Dana the Irish singer. Must be something to do with deep set eyes.
Since I've let my hair go grey, I can only see my gran when I look in the mirror.....if I wear my glasses.

This was many years ago now!

Someone said a couple of years ago that I looked like Juliet Greco .Today I look like Hagrid .

When I was in my teens people said I resembled Jane Seymour, I think it was probably because I had very long dark hair with a centre parting. More recently several people have said I look like Jenny Agutter (minus wimplegrin). To me, when I look in the mirror I see my mother which pleases me. When she was young she was apparently a dead ringer for Jane Russell.

At one of my sons weddings my Mum told me I looked like Joan Collins !

I once was given the Nickname 'Matron' from the Carry on films. I was working in a Mental health rehab unit at the time and was expecting my youngest Daughter, hence the size of me!
With curly permed hair and a navy blue uniform, with a huge bunce of keys in my pocket, I supose that I really did look the part!

When I was young I was told I looked like the model, Maudie James. Years later I was told I looked like nurse Gladys from open all hours. The guy who told me that then asked me out!

@fevertree Me too! I’m practically a carbon copy ?

Nowadays I look a bit like Prue Leith. Minus all the colourful jewellery.

I was once told by a work colleague that my nickname was Jimmy Krankie. I was very upset about it even though nobody ever said it to my face.
It did me a favour though - it made me change my hairstyle and lose weight.

Could have been worse though - one of the other staff was referred to as Shrek, he really wasn't happy about that either (but there was a resemblance)!

A couple stopped me when I was walking my dogs to ask if I was Jane MacDonald. I said good job I wasn’t as I get seasick in the bath!!?

Rosina Sat 27-Jun-20 11:54:26

I was asked several times if I was Mary Hopkin - we both had waist length dead straight fair hair and were of similar build and height. That's where the resemblance ended as I couldn't sing a note. Nowdays I look in the mirror and see a mix of my Father and my Aunt Emily.

Most mornings I look like “the Wreck of the Hesperus” (my mother used to say that about herself too!) but several people over the years have said I look like Goldie Hawn, which always cheers me up!

gillyknits Sat 27-Jun-20 11:56:26

Someone once said that I looked like Julie Andrews.

Diana Rigg here...or at least used to be - have been asked for an autograph back in the day.

I am a little more ahem, 'comfortable' now, so have lost a little of the cutting cheekbones!

Kellie40 Sat 27-Jun-20 11:59:40

I have been told on numerous occasions I look like Madonna

moggie57 Sat 27-Jun-20 12:03:43

Ive often been told I look like either Joanna Lumley or Joni Mitchell.
Happy with either, though I'm not as toothy as Joanna. ?

Millie22 Sat 27-Jun-20 12:06:34

One of the women in 'Friends' but I've never watched it so I don't know which one.

WoodLane7 Sat 27-Jun-20 12:07:04

I look nothing like anyone famous but I must have some doppelgangers as frequently people I meet for the first time are convinced my face is familiar and they have seen me somewhere before - and if they can say where they believe they have seen me it is usually some place I have never visited

Caro57 Sat 27-Jun-20 12:09:06

My mother - she appears every time I look in a mirror! I wastold Juliette Binoche and Judith Durham when I was younger

Lulubelle500 Sat 27-Jun-20 12:10:41

I used to look like Cher when we were both young (after she'd had all the work done!) but now I look like my mother. It's all in the bone structure of the face when you get older. My brother and sister and I were so different when we were younger, but now we all three look like her!

In my mid teens, a dustman stopped me in the street and asked me if I was Lucille from Coronation Street. When I said no, he said he'd have bet his wages on it. I should have taken the bet! In later years, I've been likened to Princess Margaret and Maria Callas! Of course, I've always seen myself as a dead ringer for Ingrid Bergman!
