Do you wash cleaning cloths with normal laundry?

The hot wash I use for towels and cloths is 60.

When I hang them out of course I have to hang them in colour order.

T towels go in with the main wash. Dishcloths boiled on the hob with soda crystals usually twice and then bleached.

Having read this whole thread I have decided that it sounds like a 'who washes in hottest water contest or 'who uses the most bleach' contest. You all have too much time on your hands... I have duck calling me...think I will go give them a tasty treat. Enjoy your afternoon ladies x

My daughter swears by microwaving a damp cloth for 2 minutes Apparently it kills 99.9% of germs. I tend to bleach mine though.

Most things go in together. If a cloth is particularly dirty (after cleaning the car for instance) then it gets washed separately in a bucket by hand.
Surely most of us don't own enough cleaning cloths for them to go in the washing machine to make up a full load? Unless you're Lady Something with a large stately home to run.

They go in with a clothes etc wash. Still alive in my 70s.

No, certainly not. You might find the fluff off yellow dusters attaches itself to clothes especially dark ones.

i use 20, or 30 c., mainly because it's quicker,
about 45 mins short wash, reduced load,
and seems safer for the clothes.
i do add disinfectant to every load.
used to use 40 when i went to laundrette.
cleaning items are thrown away.

I use a fresh one every day and soak the used ones in very dilute bleach, then wash them all at the same time. Depends on the variety of cloth what they go in with - those that shed lint only go in with bedding, those that don't can go in with clothes.
I think that once excess dirt in rinsed off then any washing can go in together (colour sorting aside)
Reading the thread I've been amazed at how many people with the futures of young relatives to consider just throw stuff away

I bleach my thin sponge dishcloths regularly, but use kitchen roll for most things where I can. Tea towels go in hot wash with washing machine disinfectant.

Ps never use fabric conditioner for swimwear/man made fabrics/elastane eg in underwear/leggings etc as it wrecks them

I just soak mine in bleach for an hour. Clean as a whistle!

I hang my ragged floor cloths made of old bath or beach towels on the line. I am proud of them as some are decades old and remind me of times that are gone.

Wham sold or sells a long handled scrubbing brush with short bristles that grab hold of cloths . I throw down some hot water with a little bleach then place the scrubbing brush on old ragged bath towel or beach towel. I push it in front of me , backwards and forwards, length after length, and sometimes walking in gentle curves. When too wet, changing to a clean old towel .The towels are so ragged they dry quickly outdoors.
