Well, I do have a set of Christmas towels with embroidered reindeer and some very tasteful Christmas tea-towels.

Just come onto this thread because I couldn't believe that 202 people (when I looked) were exchanging views about how they washed their tea towels. Are there 202 different ways. Was sure the subject must have changed, but it hasn't. ??

I do like to be co-ordinated so I use a cleaning cloth which matches my overall.
My turban tones in too, of course.

Tea towels and dish cloths together on 90 degree wash. Towels and face cloths 60 degrees. Bedding and cotton underwear if it can take it 60 degrees otherwise 40. Dusters etc in with cats blankets and gardening gloves 40 degrees. Other washing as per labels. Never mix whites and coloureds - my mum would have had a fit! We have towels and clothes that are years old so shows it pays to take care with your washing. Probably I’m just old fashioned but have always done it this way.

Just to be sure is this thread about tea towels ? Or cloths for giving the counter tops a quick wipe ? for cleaning windows ?
For doing the bathroom ? The possibilities for discussion are endless.
Personally I save them up dye them a pastel,shade and make them into a toilet roll cover

I hadn't thought about knitting red and green ones for Christmas. I must see if I can get some knitting cotton in those colours

Well, every cleaning lady wears one, surely? They hide my curlers.
Think Hilda Ogden.
Mostly they match my overall and the cleaning cloth of the day (sometimes they clash but I can never do a proper job on those days).

I like to do a Proper Job.

People are still appearing to give us fascinating insight into laundry housework etc. Unbelievable!

Oh, I will! I’m quite brazen about my Christmas kitchen towel. I’m pretty sure I put half a roll away (somewhere ] that was left over last year, so I can save a bob or two this year, hurrah!

I might just run up a couple of festive turbans during our new restrictions. To enhance my passing resemblance to Norah Batty.

They cover up the lockdown hair very successfully!

I must be such a slut. Two types of wash here - light and dark - and the tea towels and kitchen sponges (mostly changed daily) go in with the lights. Always done that - been married 49 years - rarely get colds or bugs.

I have a bag on the kitchen door for cleaning cloths , tea towels etc. They go in for a hot wash altogether once the bag is full. Have done this always... my mum had a stove top boiler that did the job for her..MiL boiled her husband's cotton handkerchiefs each week...

I just soak dishcloths and wiping cloths in bleach periodically

Tea towels ,dish cloths ,cleaning clothes same , not a big task and gives my hands arms exercise they need washed by hand always in sink ,

I dreamt about dish cloths last night, or rather one particular one - a yellow, handknitted one made by a friend. In my dream, the cloth disintegrated in the dishwasher and I asked her to make me a new one.

Afaik, this friend doesn’t knit IRL and I woke up utterly bamboozled as to why I had such a weird dream. Logged onto GN and hey presto, the Dish Cloth thread! ??
