As a teenager, which singers/actors did you really fancy, even fantasise about? For me it was -
Davy Jones (Monkees)
Peter Frampton (Thunderclap Newman)
David Cassidy
David Essex
Peter Noon (Herman’s Hermits)
Sasha Distel

Oh, how my imagination ran wild when I thought of, in particular, Davy Jones. And I was only about 13/14 at the time!

Definitely Scott Engel.
But it was Manolito (Henry Darrow) from High Chaparral who kept us watching.

Sweetpeasue Wed 29-Dec-21 22:45:33

Oh yes gullygranny Yul Brynner.
Eyes that could see your soul! ?

Georgesgran Wed 29-Dec-21 23:18:59

I could always see a very attractive, sexy man behind the glasses - John Denver.

pea007 Wed 29-Dec-21 23:28:52

George Best without a doubt. Had posters of him all over my wall.

Sweetpeasue Wed 29-Dec-21 23:29:45

Sorry, know I'm being greedy but
PAUL NEWMAN
Again, the eyes.

Younger than teen, really.
Marc Bolan.
Gary Glitter. (I know, I know!)

Then when I was a teen, Ian Dury was my heart throb. smile

Mick Ronson. Blond hair, blue eyes and his 'God Given Ass' grin (Bowies lyrics)
Great guitarist and musician too.

Grandma2213 Thu 30-Dec-21 00:54:33

Robert Fuller who played Jess Harper in Laramie. I recently googled his pictures and still got all fluttery. Gorgeous.

MissAdventure Thu 30-Dec-21 00:56:56

I love watching Ronson play guitar. smile
Love the role Bowie songs, when everything was far out, and people were cats.

MissAdventure Thu 30-Dec-21 00:57:23

Old. Not role.

shysal Thu 30-Dec-21 07:41:44

Most of the above plus Omar Sharif and Michael Landon.

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 30-Dec-21 08:02:41

I always remember Mum waiting for Russ Conway to smile at her whilst playing his piano, on Billy Cottons Band Show, he never let her down and smiled at her several times!

LindaPat Thu 30-Dec-21 08:22:05

David Cassidy
Marc Bolan
John Taylor ( Duran Duran)

When I was a teenager I wasn't allowed to go to gigs/pop concerts, as my very protective parents thought it was too risky. Never saw anyone play live till I was away at college, and saw Leo Sayer at the University.

When MrLP found out about my David Cassidy passion, he arranged tickets for David's next tour. He was worried because I was absolutely silent while we were waiting for the show to start, he thought I wasn't happy. Actually I was just so overwhelmed that I was going to be in the same air space as David Cassidy that I couldn't speak!

We saw David quite a few times after that, but I will never forget that first time. Mr LP got it absolutely right!

Take care xx

Josieann Thu 30-Dec-21 08:24:30

Oh yes, Lindapat, Leo Sayer too.

TillyTrotter Thu 30-Dec-21 08:39:05

Robert Redford. After “Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid” it seemed as if all women were in love with either Robert R or Paul Newman and I was definitely captured by the charm of Robert Redford.

TillyTrotter Thu 30-Dec-21 08:40:13

Singer - I was in lust with David Essex.

FindingNemo15 Thu 30-Dec-21 08:47:29

Cat Stevens
David Essex
Omar Sherif
Alan Clark (The Hollies)
Rod Stewart

Singer - I was in lust with David Essex.

My husband later worked with him (1985/6) on the West End stage show Mutiny, along with the singer Sinitta. I went to watch a few times and he was like a monkey swinging off this huge ship that engulfed the stage, all while singing at the same time! I was pregnant too and the baby became really active!

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 30-Dec-21 08:51:08

George Harrison
Gene Pitney
David McCullum (sp) Man from Uncle
Robert Plant
David Gilmour

Calendargirl Thu 30-Dec-21 09:00:50

So many already mentioned so won’t repeat.

Barry Gibb. Those hips, eyes, hair! ?

Sadly, as with most of us, not the same nowadays. sad

Juliet27 Thu 30-Dec-21 09:14:59

In my early teens I had a thing about Manitas de Plata…but that was probably because I’d wanted to grow up as a Romany gypsy. I know…strange!!
Now it’s Robert Lindsay for me.
