I've not long had breakfast but it was very meagre - a bit of granola and yoghurt. I'm quite well stocked with goodies but can't decide what to have and need some inspiration.

What are your eating plans for the day?

I'm using leftovers today, so -
Cheese on toast for lunch. I've got some old cheese
Also, I've got 3 mushrooms, 2 eggs and 2 slices of ham, so for dinner I will have those with a small amount of oven chips. (but only 1 egg).

Just heading home to a fish finger sandwich. Tonight’s meal is peanut satay tempeh with chilli & crispy kale rice. All courtesy of my personal chef (DH).

I'm having a cook-a-thon this morning... batch-cooking chicken traybake (spicy thighs, red onions & garlic, tomatoes & black eyed beans) plus meatballs in a sort of Swedish/IKEA sauce.

Will have chicken for lunch the rest will be portioned and put in the freezer smile

I'm eating out tonight, probably Tapas.

We went to one of the Hawksmoor restaurants in London today and met the family for lunch to celebrate OH’s 70th. I had mackerel salad followed by steak and all the trimmings. Pudding was a scoop of mandarin ice-cream and caramel ice-cream. Two gimlets (my favourite cocktail) were also consumed. The others had a variety of starters, steaks, drinks and puddings. Back home now and wondering what I should have for a very light meal.

Breakfast was a bowl of fresh fruit then boiled eggs and pikelets.

Late lunch on way home from a drive out was Lamb kofta style burger with tzatziki, chips, salad and onion rings. Delicious! Had a dessert that am regretting now as we are so stuffed it was HM cherry and vanilla cheesecake.
No further food required today!

Saturday lunch was homemade carrot and coriander soup. Dinner was ricotta and pine nut ravioli with tomato and mascarpone sauce with a very decent glass of fleurie. Dessert was rhubarb mousse.

Crumpet for breakfast.

Lunch - whatever occurs.

Dinner - roast chicken etc.

henetha Sun 23-Jan-22 11:13:43

I just had a toasted brioche roll with spread and marmalade for breakfast. Lunch will be something on toast. Dinner will be something found in the dark reaches of the freezer. With sweet potatoes.
I'm sticking firmly to my plan to use up all leftovers before going shopping again.

For lunch I'm unexpectedly having roast leg of lamb - it was reduced at Waitrose this morning. Will have it with gem lettuce braised with frozen garden peas.

Oh, the smell of the roasting lamb, garlic & rosemary... smile

I’m jealous, Riverwalk! Homemade veg soup with cheese on toast for us. And tonight we’re having curry - a healthy one, though (we discovered Chef Akila in lockdown - lovely food without the guilt).

Kate1949 Sun 23-Jan-22 15:06:05

A boiled egg for breakfast today
Lunch was a very naughty, unhealthy one. A fish paste sandwich. It's my once in a blue moon ? guilty pleasure.
Tea will be fish cakes and loads of veg. Then a few glasses of wine at the pub quiz.

A mini-FEB (1 rasher bacon, 1 slice black pudding, 1 hash brown, 1 tomato - all grilled, and a poached egg)

Home-made mushroom soup with DH's home-made bread

Pan-fried pheasant breast (reduced in price in Waitrose last week and put straight into freezer) with roast potatoes, parsnips, sprouts, stuffing balls and gravy. A glass of very nice Errazuriz Cabernet Sauvignon to wash it down.

Tomorrow it's back to porridge/half a sandwich/something-and-salad ... (but still with a glass of wine!)

Callistemon21 Sun 23-Jan-22 15:54:06

Beef casserole for dinner, simmering away in the slow cooker. I sloshed some good red wine into it but decided not to use too much as it would be better to have a glass with it.

TerriBull Sun 23-Jan-22 16:53:12

Slice of toast, smoked salmon sandwich, two tangerines and 4 coffees so far today.

With the family in about an hour, I'm cooking roast beef, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots, Yorkshire puddings and for pudding a Sicilian Lemon Tart, courtesy of Waitrose with cream.
