If you won the lottery what would you buy?

Yes I agree health is wealth, and more important than any money, and were I to win millions I would give a substantial amount to charities. I see that animal charities are well provided fir by other grans and though I like cats and other animals my money would go towards making people’s lives better both at home and abroad.

Would want my two children and GC to be ok, friends too, then my dream has long been a place by the sea, somewhere pretty but not too touristy so it isn’t empty and dead off season, probably update our old Fiesta, maybe another Fiesta, as I prefer driving a small car, or as a treat perhaps a chauffeur sometimes, as I am less keen on driving these days.
Oh and a cleaner ....definitely a cleaner, have never had one but need one now I am getting creaky, Hate housework . Would pay well too.

Enough money makes life easier but the few really wealthy people I have known never seemed to appreciate their good fortune, instead they compare themselves unfavourably to even richer people. My friends and their friends found fault with almost everything and were rarely satisfied. It’s always that extra deal. Sad really.

Property within walking distance of local hospital, nhs staff only, extra soundproofing because of shifts , nice outside space with gardener, rent as percentage of earning, plus lots of little things to make life better.

A bungalow for my father .
It's a real struggle in his unsuitable house without a wet room .The kitchen is a galley one .The stairs are steep .
He's resistant to any change and even if he agreed having it altered would be too much for him .
It's a dull suburb
and there's an uninspiring selection of shops .

I have plans to do a round the world trip with my best friend ,who is so ill . She's much younger than me and I really worry about her .
After cash gifts to family and friends -
I'd like to give money to worthy causes making a difference to children's lives .

Oh, and I would like to buy the lovely, but decrepit, Victorian building that housed the library our council has closed, bring it back to its former glory and get it up and running with volunteers, including me.

... Oh, I like this one... would volunteer for something like that...

I would buy home repairs. Then I'd hire a housekeeper full time and invest the rest for future medical bills.

Stem Cell treatment for myself and my husband. Donate to the many Animal Rescues I try to support, and help family and friends. Buy eco friendly things for my home (Heat Pumps, extra Insulation, a Greenhouse, Rainwater collection etc), and if there was sufficient, donate seating and a level access path to the beach in the village (I can't stand for too long, nor can I climb over the uneven ground to get to the beach itself). I'm sure the other elderly people in the village and the Mum's with toddlers would appreciate it!

I would set my kids, brother, nephews and nieces up for life. Pay off my mortgage, me & hubby would resign from our jobs, I would give lots of money to the place I work in. We would buy a motor home and travel so much x

First things first. Rigby and Peller for made to measure bras and somewhere for a couple of pairs of made to measure trousers as I find the fit of both bras and trousers very hit and miss.

I'd like to downsize and mover to either a village or somewhere by the sea.

I'd sort out the DD's and DGD, sister and SiL then work my way through helping other family, friends and charities.

If there was enough left I'd love to go back to Barbados for a holiday.

After making sure my daughter and son were suitably provided for, and enjoying a nice relaxing holiday, I'd set up an animal rescue sanctuary here and fund friends who run similar places in Turkey too.

I think I’d give much of it away. I have a comfortable lifestyle and there’s little I need.

Firstly I would pack my job in and I wouldn,t even bother giving notice as we are just numbers now where I work,
Then I would be off on a long holiday just to get my head straight on what I would give my family.

Security for all the family ,a home with character all on one level with access to good health care and easy shopping. A holiday home we could all stay in with a chef so no one needed to cook.
My father once won the Pools,so did everyone else that week he got 11 guinea I got the eleven shillings and he halved the other with my mum.

I would buy a small flat in Paris as I love it there.
Then I would pay off my ACs mortgages and put money in the DGCs accounts. Then send them all on holiday and buy a small cottage with half acre ground

My late husband & I agreed that if we ever won "the big one" we'd give half of everything over the first million to charities.

I'd set up a Trust for my son that ensured if he ever gets divorced, the money would be untouchable by the woman he was divorcing.

Then I'd buy a property with a good acreage in an isolated spot, hire a cook/housekeeper and a groom/dogwalker and build an American Barn type of stable block.

After which I'd go wild decorating in my own eccentric style and have underfloor heating installed and spend the rest of my days happily snuggled up with paranormal romance books on my Kindle or out with my dogs and horses.

Basically, I'd be lazy, warm and well fed and never have to worry about the cost of heating or a vet bill ever again! I'm sitting here drooling at the thought.

I will ask the bank to give all my winnings in cash so that I can roll in it. And my husband can say 'My wife is rolling in money!'

Actually, I know two people who have won the lottery - my colleague's sister – she is a millionaire and our previous tenants.

My husband came across a blown up cheque from the National Lottery on top of the kitchen cabinet, they won £120k which is a sizeable win at that time, you could buy 2 semi detached houses for that price.

They were quite happy to stay in the rented property, it was my husband that wanted to put the house on the market. They were divorced, maybe they did not want their exes to know that they had a windfall.

When I win mega money I’m going to treat my 5 friends from Teacher Training College to a whole week at a spa/ health farm or similar. We all met at College in 1970 and I will be the last one to reach the Big 7 0 in just a few weeks time. Then I will organise another week to treat my 4 other good friends who live locally. Of course I will treat my 2 adult children and 2 GC, but the two spa weeks would be really good fun before we all become too old for such pleasures! If only ......

I would enjoy the money shared between our small family. We lost our business and villa in Spain and pay too much rent in England right now. I won £4.00 on the euro millions last week. Don’t enter every time. If a large win, owning a house in our son’s name would be a priority. Then charity wise I would like to be in control. Maybe a trip to Great Ormond Street to chat to parents needing specialist treatment for their child and I could foot the bill.

And me, I was gutted, I had the two lucky stars and three numbers and for that I won £32 !!!. It’s about time the lottery prize moneys were split more evenly. It’s very hard to get the two lucky stars.

When /if I win the lottery I would treat my two kids giving them enough to pay of their mortgage, buy in round the clock personal nursing care, Give most of it away to deserving causes, that’s it then -all gone

How very odd.. I have just won £30 on the lottery.

Looking at the threads for inspiration maybe I’ll buy some loungewear and scandalise the locals by wearing it in Waitrose.
