Nice Stuff to go in the Bath 🛁

(70 Posts)

Hello smile

Please can I have some suggestions for nice bath products?

I’m sick of wasting money on stuff that a) doesn’t have any discernible scent; and b) doesn’t foam.

Thank you!

Sanctuary Spa has some really nice bath and shower products and are very nicely scented. Prices are good too. Available from Superdrug.

On a brighter note, I have just had a really lovely (no grime involved) Badedas bath.

Real soap. the nice ones with essential oils that usually cost about £3-£5 each. The only problem with them is if you get it in your eyes, it stings.

Badedas is currently on offer from Superdrug, free delivery if you can't get to the shop 🙂

Champneys bubble heaven in CALM - divine smell that you can get addicted to. Not cheap, but just got one on EBAY for £10 50 (for 300ml). Lathers up beautifully with just a pea sized blob on one of those scrubby thingys, so last for ages.

Fengal think that's how you spelt it.

M&S do a nice rose bath cream which foams up. It's not expensive. It's not on their website, probably because it's so cheap, about £3.50 as part of their Floral Collection. Also Aldi's Lacura bath soak, a duplicate for the Sanctuary's version but about £5 less.

And I would think that the bathroom smells good too. I Use Badedas in the winter as it’s so comforting.. use L’Occitane in the summer. The verbena is lovely. However I’m off to try the Aldi ones that have been recommended. All for saving cash if I can 😂

Badedas will forever remind me of my lovely dad. ❤️

Thanks for your contribution ordinarygirl, but I have already mentioned that, unfortunately, I do not have a shower
And I can assure you that I do not ‘sit in my own grime’

ordinarygirl Thu 06-Apr-23 14:48:57

I hate baths - 1) a waste of water (when in our area there is still a hosepipe ban)
2) i have vaginal atrophy and it would mean I was adding fuel to a fire
3) water temperature declines if you sit in a bath for a long time
4) you have to sit in your own grime

A shower is so much better

I find Badedas very drying for the skin these days, never used to do that.

Vintagegirl Thu 06-Apr-23 14:02:45

Thank you Aldom. I cant see how to edit posts to add in bits? I love Badedas also and brings back memories of a dear friend. She always gave me Black Magic and in turn her present was Badedas.

Sorry to hear Museum in Bath is closed, thank you for info. I visited there sometime in 1980's and saw a jumper on display that I had!... and still have. I think I bought the PC of it in the shop too.

Bath and Body Works products have lovely long lasting fragrances (mandarin and ginger is my favourite), also anything Tisserand, The Ritual of Jing and The Body Shop’s British Rose.

I like sanctuary spa. Either the original orange coloured one or the Lily and Rose. I've only seen the Lily and Rose in a body wash which I assume is for the shower but I use it in the bath too.

I love Badedas as well .
It's not cheap !
I use Radox .

Unfortunately my skin is really dry and sensitive so after a soak in the tub I have to shower off all soap residues .

At the moment , my hands are sore from using an antibacterial handwash .

So many recommendations for Molton Brown I’ve just had a look, way out of my price range..😐

I'd love to have a bath, FannyCornforth but getting out worries me so I haven't had one for years.

We do have a separate shower but it's not the same.

L'Occitane, Molton Brown and Fenjal are all lovely, followed up by a moisturer which has the same scent.

I'll look out for the M&S Neroli range.

Chairs that can sit in most baths lower and raise the seat with battery operated controls are a very good option: you don’t have to make any alterations to bath or bathroom and the chair just lifts out for the rest of the household. The chair is stabilised with strong sucker feet. My bath is a terrible slanted thing but the chair fits in fine - just make sure the control is charged before using. They’re about £250.00 so much more affordable than walk in baths

Molton Brown for me too. Was converted many years ago and don't use anything else now. Heavenly scents for baths and showers.

When I lived in Germany in the early 80's, I was introduced to Badedas, and it's still my "go to" choice at bath time, although I tend to prefer showers more these days due to mobility problems. Fortunately, they also do shower gel. Part of the formula includes horse chestnut extract, and I've always loved the distinctive, fresh, clean scent. Much less expensive now, comparatively speaking, than back in the old days, when there wasn't much competition, and it was seen as a luxury product, and it's still widely available.

knspol Thu 06-Apr-23 11:48:59

Molton Brown for me, love all of their 'flavours'. Aesop products are really great too but way too expensive for me.

sazz1 Thu 06-Apr-23 11:45:16

I use simple bubble bath and shower gel. Not perfumed but lathers up well and doesn't irritate my skin

brazenp75 Thu 06-Apr-23 11:36:56

I like Neals Yard stuff..................or Molton Brown.
