Saddens me to read so much criticism of Justin Welby, no one has posted anything he may have said to earn - Pharisee,
I was so fortunate to have been invited to meet Archbishop
Desmond Tutu when he visited Wales , a godly man , yet being an Archbishop he was all robes and church services for some

Yes, me too.
I like Archbishop Justin Welby.

Anniebach I met Desmond Tutu when I was a young girl ๐Ÿ™‚

Dickens wrote "I think God is a metaphor for goodness and self-sacrifice - but human beings can be good and selfless / altruistic without believing in him."

A practical metaphor. Personalising an ethic can make the idea more lucid. Problem is some people can't do metaphors and hear everything literally.

Iamsixtyfour, I am not anti religion however I believe it's a pity that ministers of religion don't get their flocks to understand that their religion exists to get people to cooperate in any way they can towards caring and being good. The poor minister cannot possibly act as the only carer and educator in the congregation, whilst the remainder simply sit there and soak it up each for their own consolation.
