Mattress topper anyone ?

Hi
Last year we bought an expensive Harrison Spinks mattress, just recently about 3:4 mths I’ve been waking up in the night with a sensation in my thigh when lay on my side
It’s that intense that it wakes me up
It’s not necessary a pain but it’s very uncomfortable enough to wake me up

I’m thinking mattress is too hard although it’s a medium firm mattress
So I was thinking of buying a mattress topper to make it a but cushioned but I don’t want one that will make me feel hot
I suffer with that already

Has anyone bought one ?
Why did you buy one ?
What make & how much pls

I use a 4 inch thick memory foam topper on top of a quality mattress, The safety grab rail and the sheets all tuck under the 4 inch thick topper. I had the bed legs sawn shorter so it's easy to get into bed with the extra thickness of mattress,
