tesco partner offers hassle

In the past I have tended to save tesco vouchers and use them for christmas food. Now a widow and living alone I thought despite their value going down from +3 to +2 worth I would look at some of the partner deals. What a monumental hassle it all is!! There is no simple choose a hotel ,use vouchers etc and have looked through a lot of different things., and they all seem to be set up in the most complicated way possible. Having read some of the reviews I am not the only person who thinks this. Do they hope you will be put off by the palaver and only use the vouchers in Tesco? I will definitely make sure to use mine, but if Tesco think that they get good will from customers , the way this is organised certainly does not help to promote good feelings.

Tesco is our only major supermarket here so I do the majority of my shopping there.
I collect the vouchers and use them to pay for a hotel at the airport if we have an early morning flight. That has saved us up to £150.
I think that’s good value.

Don't know how but some customers have had their tesco points stolen from scammers !!!!!!! So inform Tesco ASAP

Oh I so agree. I almost gave up using my clubcard when I was issued with a new one. The palaver of trying to get onto the website with the new card was ridiculous - the amount of security hoops I had to jump through was more akin to trying to launder hundreds of thousands of pounds made through South American drug cartels rather than trying to access my £20 worth of vouchers!

It is not as bad as Asda with their "missions". At least with Tesco and Nectar at Sainsbury you get points on almost everything you buy. There is a free phone number for Tesco, give them a call and they will explain, they are very helpful.

I've always tried to get the maximum value from my Tesco vouchers. I agree it can be a bit of a faff, but once you get used to it doesn't seem so bad.
I save mine until I have three years worth and then redeem them with the partners on something I wouldn't otherwise buy for myself.

Over the years they have paid for a Tassimo coffee maker, a caravan stay on the Isle of Wight and a full Denby dinner service (collected over six years!!).

This year with three years banked I wanted to redeem them in full but didn't have enough time to search for something.

Instead I used £30 of my oldest vouchers to get £90 off (the maximum allowed) on a three night stay in a lodge in the New Forest. This is during the February half term and is a joint Xmas pressie for my daughter and her family to enable them to visit Peppa Pig World in Paultons Park.
I'll hang on to the ones I still have until I top them up with next years vouchers.

Loyalty schemes are not new. Does anyone remember collecting Matchbox cars from National petrol? Also glassware?

My mum would joke that if you said 'petrol' too loud near the glass cabinet all the glassware would break!!

Then there were saucepan sets, cutlery sets and dinner services to be collected at different times in the supermarkets.

Also Green Shield stamps from the Co-op. It was my job to stick them in the books. I can remember going with mum to redeem the full books for cash at the customer service desk in the big Co-op in town, then spending that money on new school uniform on the next floor down!

I have a set of cutlery my mum collected from a supermarket loyalty scheme. They never had much money and my dad (a skilled DIYer) made a canteen box out of wood saved from an old wardrobe. It is lined with green felt and all the compartments are there. The wood is French polished to a dark high sheen. They very proudly gave it to my second husband and I as a wedding present.

We both dislike it as it is not our style, but I'll never get rid of it because of the sentiment and hard work behind it.

Also glassware?
Still got lots of glassware! Was it Esso?

Barclays points, Green Shield stamps etc.
Stoneware plates from Somerfield (or was it Gateway at that time?)

I’ve never had a problem using mine. I bought a railcard a couple of weeks ago and it was all very straightforward.

I convert mine to pizza express vouchers, not so good now it's 2 for 1 used to be 4 for 1 in the beginning
