Has anyone purchased from “Must Have Ideas”

I am tempted to buy a couple of items from a company called Must Have Ideas. The Trust Pilot reviews look very good but as usual I prefer the views and opinions of Gransnetters. Has anyone used this company?

I bought the skirting board cleaning mop as we have a Victorian house with intricate skirtings where dust and dirt gather and my back isn’t what it was bending down to clean them. A good idea and it arrived promptly but I was disappointed as it’s very flimsy and it was a faff to return it. The pads which go with it were expensive too.

Slice and Dice needs the strength of Samson to operate. Mine ended up in the local jumble sale. Some of the stuff is gimmicky but I've had some really useful things from them, especially their rechargeable light bars, wonderful for motion sensor operation for night trips to the loo and excellent as torches as well. One tip- if you want to buy two of anything, order one then a message comes up to offer you a second one at a considerably lower price and no extra postage.

When the emails start, I just unsubscribe in my emails and that stops them.

I have bought quite a lot of things from MHI and most are pretty good. You need to be a bit careful what you buy, look at the photos and judge for yourself as to how safe/strong they will be. On the whole though, I haven’t been disappointed.
I did get fed up with the pestering emails that started straight after my first purchase, but wrote and told them I would stop buying if they kept pestering me. They have stopped now.

Don't be tempted to buy the so called ultra safe gardening gloves. They are useless. Thorns went straight through. I complained, but still they keep advertising them showing people grabbing brambles. The skirting board duster wobbles all over the place, but the hand held squirty cleaner with changeable pads is good.

I have bought loads from them. I particularly love the multi head cleaning set, brush, mop, window cleaner, duster , corner brush and scrubbing pad. You can even use the Flash floor wipes with the mop head. It saves me so much space.

I've bought mould magic - a brilliant product, and some storage boxes, which are also great. I unsubscribed from marketing so haven't had emails etc. I thought the customer service was excellent. I made a phone call about the boxes, the phone was answered immediately and the person I spoke to was extremely helpful.

Beesh

I am particularly interested in the “Slice and dice” (which is a more convenient size than my food processor) and will be great for salads. The “Miracle melt” also looks useful as I hate defrosting food in the microwave. Has anyone purchased either of these items?

I bought that defrosting tray. It’s brilliant!
It needs to be stood somewhere that the defrosting water can run off to. Otherwise it ends up standing in a puddle.

Mould Magic is amazing and cleaned the rim of my washing machine so well.

The ‘Orange Oil’ washing stain remover wasn’t so good.

And I got a Slice and Dice compact set from Lidl. Much cheaper than Must Have Ideas.

Shop around to find the exact same items. A lot are sold from Temu and Shein and are the exact same items

Another yes from me! The mould magic is a truly amazing product. I have no hesitation using them if I need something

It’s things like clothes marked as must haves which probably irritate me most. M&S do this and I wish they didn't.

Having said that someone mentioned a mat to stop the freezer 🥶 needing to be defrosted is of interest. .

They prey on disorganised people like me who think that buying certain gadgets will turn their lives around. There are some things that really have turned out to be good. A microwave saucepan from Easylife in which I can cook frozen vegetables and then using the lid can drain them.Good for cooking small amounts of vegetables for the dog,And a mat that goes in the freezer compartment and stops ice building up. I think that might have come from Must Have Ideas but I’m not sure. Their mould remover really is good and has cured a terrible mould problem in my partners bathroom. I don’t think the green bags that are supposed to keep vegetables and fruit fresh actually work. It just seems to make them damp. There is a little ‘ cheap’ shop in the next village that actually sells a lot of similar products much cheaper. The jar opener that someone recommended on here is one of my favourite recent purchases; I’m so grateful to whoever mentioned it as I never knew such things existed. My life being quite dull I find it quite exciting watching it work. I’m rather tempted to buy the tray that is supposed to thaw frozen food instantly but I’d like to get a recommendation from someone first.

The constant use of items we apparently ‘‘must have’ really irritates me.

LadyGracie

I bought the Slice and Dice and I’m not impressed at all, it takes a lot of pressure to use it and isn’t very sturdy, I’ve gone back to hand chopping.
I also bought the folding tables, they’re not good, very unstable.
The Mould Magic is good.

I can’t believe that they’re still selling those tables given that they’re so unstable. I keep meaning to report it to trading standards.

Yes, I have several times. Mostly very happy with my purchases.

Redcar Thu 30-Jan-25 16:43:10

I’ve bought a couple of things from them. The duster for skirting boards is a bit fiddly and not particularly effective. I bought a holder to rest my ipad on, so I don’t have to hold it up, and that’s very useful.

MayBee70 Thu 30-Jan-25 15:36:11

The Tidy ties are a waste of time, too. Better off using some string. Their microfibre cloths aren’t very good, although they’re ok as dusters and some other cloths that are supposed to absorb lots of water work after a fashion but arrive all stuck together and, when dry are stiff as a board. I have found uses for them (I cut them into strips and put them in places that get wet eg water comes in through my front door so I put a strip inside the door) but they don’t look like the ones in their advert.

Patsy70 Thu 30-Jan-25 14:05:16

I’ve bought a few items from them and was most impressed with the space-saving hangers. Less impressed with the radiator brush, which was too wide to do the job.

Georgesgran Thu 30-Jan-25 13:14:03

I’ve bought quite a few things from them without any problems and subscribed to the one off annual delivery charge.
Unfortunately, my last purchase of toilet cleaner omitted to mention pouring a kettle full of boiling water in the pan first - I’m not keen on carrying those around.

MayBee70 Thu 30-Jan-25 12:14:18

I was so impressed with the mould magic that I spent £200 buying products from them, many of which were rubbish. Two small tables for the grandchildren to use for meals that were’t fit for purpose and downright dangerous. I complained them and was told I had to return them. As they were large items I refused and they reimbursed me with the money. However, they still continue to sell them and advertise them as strong enough to hold a sewing machine. As you can see in the photo the legs swing around, they are not secure. And they don’t fold easily for storage at all; you have to dismantle them and my arthritic hands struggle with that. I wouldn’t even rest a cup of tea on them. A gadget that seals plastic bags. In the advert they put a phone in a bag and immersed it in water. There is no way that it seals properly. I have used it but not for its original purpose. Their delivery service is very good but I would only buy something from them that isn’t a gadget of some kind. I know you have to be careful not to sign up to their loyalty scheme but I prefer using Easylife (there is a warning thread about them which is worth reading)and have never been disappointed in their products

dragonfly46 Thu 30-Jan-25 11:27:02

I have bought many things from them. I love my spray floor mop but not so keen on the solar lights.

henetha Thu 30-Jan-25 11:20:53

I have bought three items from this company, all excellent.
I'm well pleased with them. And I shall undoubtedly buy again.
I too was bombarded by emails afterwards, so I unsubscribed.

Luckygirl3 Thu 30-Jan-25 10:53:55

I buy then immediately unsubscribe to avoid the deluge.

Beesh Thu 30-Jan-25 10:10:59

Yes the bombardment of emails has started! The good thing is that the last one offered free postage so I will probably purchase and then unsubscribe!
