I only moved to this area last year and when I found a hairdresser she charged me £30 for a cut and blow dry. I have very short straight hair so it's not a massively difficult or long job.
After Christmas the price went up to £33 and my next cut in June is going to be £36.
This is a semi-rural village and it's an extension in the house - not swanky by any standards.
When she did my highlights I was a bit shocked that it was £110 - the salon I went to prior to moving charged me £80.
I have my hair done every 10 days - whatever is needed - blow dry only or cut and colour. I worked out I give her £100 a month on average. South Staffs.
Crikey, thank heavens my friend comes to my house about once every 3 months and cuts mine. No colouring (went naturally grey/white years ago) or drying etc. Quick trim and tidy up. If I had to pay some of the prices here I would have very long hair by now, or be cutting bits off for myself!
I pay £63 every 4/5 weeks for a cut and blow dry here in south Kent. I am really fussy about my hair so am prepared to pay a fairly high price to get a first class cut that stays nice even when my hair grows. Plus my hairdresser is the best counsellor!!!
I'm in Hertfordshire and pay £40 for a cut and blow dry. The price has gone up a fair bit over time but she is a very good hairdresser so I shouldn't grumble especially as I don't go regularly
I was shocked when the salon I frequented charged me £28 for a dry trim, so I sought out an alternative. I now go to a Toni and Guy training academy and pay £5 for a cut and blow dry. I get a great cut but have to sit for longer as the student is mentored and assessed.
I went to 2 different hairdressers here in South Devon. I booked for a wet cut no blow-dry. Just a shampoo and straight trim no layers. The first didn't wash my hair just quick spray of water bottle £24 The second cut it dry no sign of any water £23 Still looking for a hairdresser that can wash hair! Really upset about this
Salon on a housing estate in the Nort West I pay £14 for a dry cut and £24 for a cut and blow dry.
The salon have gone over to cash because they are charged twice by the electronic terminals people once for having the terminal for cards and once by the card for the transaction. They were loosing too much by doing this. So now its cash. Suits me.
£35 , she comes to me , cuts , blow drys. I wash it ready and use my own products . Previously I went to the salon and it was £45 and that was over ten years ago .
£52 for cut & blow dry every 4 weeks in my local county town. That's about the norm in the umpteen salons in the town. My hairdresser is very good, I have a short cut which needs to look edgy rather than grannyish & he obliges. No highlights or colours, I'm proud to be grey!
I pay £40 for wash, cut and blow dry, but only rarely because I wait until I am visiting a friend down south as I won't pay £45 - £55 for a Grimsby cut anymore. It's a long way to go for a decent hair cut but each time I have my cut locally I end up looking like it's been cut around a pudding basin. Yes, I have tried lots of salons and eventually discovered they all went to the same college and were taught by the woman who has been teaching hairdressing there for nearly 50 years!
