Hi ladies
I have been clearing out the cupboards and have discovered several bottles of champagne. There is no drink by date and I wanted to ask if anyone knows how long it can be kept for?
Many thanks

What about red wine? Seven bottles Stood up for about 5 yrs.

I don't mind coming round to test it for you. I'm kind like that. Or, if you're not sure, taste some and if it's not good, use it up in cooking.

5 yrs for non vintage. Try it and if not up to pay I would freeze it in smaller quantities and use it in cooking. I do this for any wines that I don't thoroughly enjoy drinking.

How do I know if it’s corked. Is that the correct term?

Allira Thu 30-Oct-25 19:44:50

It's off and it smells off!

It doesn't mean having a bit of loose cork floating in it.

In all the many years I’ve had of wine drinking (ahem!) I’ve only ever opened ONE bottle that was ‘corked’. Eurgh!
No mistaking it should it happen.

I did a tour of some champagne houses recently and asked them this question. They said "once it left them it should be drunk within a year!" I think give it a try, if it isn't to your liking mix it with something else. Make champagne cocktails! Enjoy
