Have just got a new Kindle and thought I'd put some free books on to start me off- some Dickens and other classics.
Has anyone had any other good books free on Kindle that you can recommend?
Something a bit more modern for a good read. I am surprised that some novels on Kindle cost nearly as much as the real thing - and you can't pass them on when you've read them like you can a real book. I think that's a disadvantage, especially after you've paid for it. Still in two minds if I've bought the right thing...

Thank you Grannyknot for the suggestion. Just tried to get that and they have priced it at £2.05. Mean old Amazon!

At the back of my old grey cells I seem to remember that with the Kindle Fire there is something in settings that allows you to get books from other sources. Either something has to be turned off or on.
People reading on other devices I have found the Blufire Reader app the best for taking books from many sources. Sometimes I have to send the book to Dropbox and the transfer it out to Bluefire.
Does that make any sense?
