Over the festive season we love nothing more than curling up with a good book and a box of mince pie or two. And this year there are some VERY good books indeed. So we asked all the publishers we work with to nominate one of their favourite reads to enjoy this Christmas. And here they all are in one handy list.

Better still - one lucky gransnetter can win the ENTIRE lot. Yup - that's every book featured on the page. Worth more than £500. In our book (no pun intended) that's a pretty fine haul at any time of year - and absolutely perfect for Christmas.

We just want to know where you like reading. Your answers will be put into the very large hat and a draw (made at random) will take place at midday on Weds 10 December - so the winner will receive their prize in plenty of time for the big day. All the details on the page

My favourite place to read is anywhere looking out over the sea, but as we live just about as far away from the sea as you can get in the UK, my usual place to read is, like fellow Gransnetters, snuggled up in bed under the duvet. When I drop the book I know it's time to turn the light out!

I love to read in a hot bath, with lovely bubbles smelling fabulous. Away from busyness, even locking the door if intrusion is possible. And you can stay longer by running some more of the hot stuff!

In bed. Under the duvet. In the morning when, in my previous existence, I would have been hard at work. Luxury!

I'll read anywhere - in bed, at the meal table, walking along the street, in the car (as passenger!) on the sofa etc etc. My mother used to accuse me of "Always having your head stuck in a book" and she was right.

In bed, with a cup of tea, early in the morning when the rest of the house is asleep.

I love to curl up on our cuddles chair when my wife is with a good book, a nice relaxing tune and a mug of cocoa (grin)

On a plane because it means I am going to see my family or off on holiday.

My favourite place to read is on the sofa or comfy armchair in a quiet room, or maybe some relaxing classical music in the background, with plenty of light, a candle flickering on the table, and a warming mug of hot chocolate to hand.

In bed! Not even going to pretend anywhere else is as nearly as cozy. ;)

My favourite place to curl up with a book is in bed. I am usually joined by my cats, smooch, bear, joey and storm. Its comfy and peaceful.

My favourite place to read is curled up in bed before I go to sleep.
I like reading on holiday too, but not in the sun!

Jedster Thu 27-Nov-14 11:48:09

On holiday, having a lie in before getting up to make croissants and coffee - best place to read!

My favourite place to read during the winter is in my conservatory near the sea. Cuddled up with a warm fleece and soft cushions, the only sound I can hear are the seagulls.
Having spent most of my life very close to Heathrow Airport wearing ear muffs to drown out the noise, my conservatory is a haven for reading in peace!

My fav place to read is in a hot bubbly bath

In the summer I read on my swing seat in my back garden, but in the winter I snuggle up under my duvet and only read in the evening.

We moved to the Norfolk coast in May so my favourite place to read in the summer is on a quiet stretch of beach with a flask of coffee and the sound of the sea. Bliss! Now the weather has turned colder I curl up in the armchair with my spaniel Millie next to me and the birds on the bird table squabbling away in the garden.

I can think of no better place than on the settee, with something strong and alcoholic on the table next to me, and my dog Rollo snuggled up beside me fast asleep.

I can lose myself in a book anywhere and everywhere but at this time of year there is the added bonus of a log fire to curl up beside with the curtains drawn to shut out whatever the weather gods are throwing at us at the time. During the summer we often take our books out when we go for a picnic and enjoy a good read once the repast is consumed. Have even been known to picnic and read inside the car when the weather had turned against us. In short a good book is great whatever the weather!

My favourite place to read is lying next to my son in bed under the duvet with a pile of his books next to us which we read together. We love the rhymes of Hairy McClarey, sing a long to Incy Wincy Spider and act out The Gruffalo. It is the best ...

I love to read in my cosy summer house at the bottom of the garden. Peaceful, private, away from everyone, with just the chickens pecking at the door to come in and join me.

queenie68 Wed 26-Nov-14 12:29:09

ooh now in the comfy chair in my frontroom, or the bath and then in bed if i can stay awake long enough plus in good weather i put my feet up in the garden

Megansmum66 Wed 26-Nov-14 00:05:16

This sounds like a fabulous prize, scrolling through the titles I can see everyone on my Christmas list happily taken care of, who made such a fabulous selection of books?
