Over the festive season we love nothing more than curling up with a good book and a box of mince pie or two. And this year there are some VERY good books indeed. So we asked all the publishers we work with to nominate one of their favourite reads to enjoy this Christmas. And here they all are in one handy list.

Better still - one lucky gransnetter can win the ENTIRE lot. Yup - that's every book featured on the page. Worth more than £500. In our book (no pun intended) that's a pretty fine haul at any time of year - and absolutely perfect for Christmas.

We just want to know where you like reading. Your answers will be put into the very large hat and a draw (made at random) will take place at midday on Weds 10 December - so the winner will receive their prize in plenty of time for the big day. All the details on the page

I love to read in the conservatory, catching the odd glimpse of the garden and sometimes getting distracted by the birds feeding on the bird table :-)

I love to read ANYWHERE, but my favourite place is curled up on the sofa with the cat keeping me company. Oh and a cup of tea within easy reach.

In the summer lazing on a sunbed with a cocktail and in the winter in front of a roaring fire with a cup of coffee.

Not my favourite place as such. But the place i manage to read most. i drive up to the school half an hour early and the wee one will fall asleep in the car and i sit and read until the girls come out. Its the only time i can sit and enjoy my books. Failing that my favourite place to read is on holiday. I long for the day i can hire a holiday home in the middle of no where jujst me and my books because i love reading and just wish i had more time to enjoy my books. and that will come

My favourite place is in bed all cosy and warm and no distractions. I read late into the night if it is a compelling read. It is just my bit of heaven and relaxation.

At this time of year my favourite reading place is curled up in bed with a large mug of hot chocolate.

I have various places that i like to read, but i guess my favourite would be in bed.
I like nothing more than snuggling up under the duvet with my favourite book of the moment and my cat curled up beside me, reading until i am so tired that all the words start jumbling together.
When i am away from home, i always make sure i have plenty of books on hand and love nothing more than reading by the pool or on the beach. The location isn't really important, i just love to read !

I love to read in my comfy armchair, with the fire on if it's cold.
I have a little table by the side of the chair and sometimes there's a glass of wine waiting for me to sip as I read... wonderful

Curled up in a bed after a busy day. That is definitely "me" time.

Wallygrom Wed 03-Dec-14 20:34:59

In my bed, with a nice cup of hot chocolate snuggled up under my duvet!

magsmurphy Wed 03-Dec-14 20:48:09

My favourite place is on the bus.

Ariadne Wed 03-Dec-14 20:50:46

At around 4.30 in the morning, still in bed, with a reading light - bit like when I was a child, reading with a torch under the covers. But duvets are so much more adaptable!

My favourite place to read is in bed. Total peace and quiet so I can fully absorb myself into the story. When I read a particularly good book I often find as I near the end that I do not want it to finish...but then I remember all the joys of a new book smile
Merry Xmas everyone!! tchsmile

So anyway...gransnet.com...

There's something I've been dying to tell you
A lovely way to burn through pages
Is to wait til the noisy animals have left our zoo
Then I'll read for ages

I'm really just being a funny girl
I love my family both in love and war
I'll whizz through a book in a whirl
Through the journey gain a sense of euphoria

Mr Mac and me,
Together we spend too much time you see
The computer strains my eyes
But I could read a book until the sunrise

One of my confessions is that to move I refuse
Instead I'll have a few brews
And Toast and Marmalade and other stories
I'll enjoy my comfy sofa spot in all it's glories

On a plane! I cannot wait to escape the dreary weather in the UK. But, unfortunately no plane is booked this year, so I will have to lose myself in a book on the sofa in front of the fire, with my back very firmly facing the window!
