Over the festive season we love nothing more than curling up with a good book and a box of mince pie or two. And this year there are some VERY good books indeed. So we asked all the publishers we work with to nominate one of their favourite reads to enjoy this Christmas. And here they all are in one handy list.

Better still - one lucky gransnetter can win the ENTIRE lot. Yup - that's every book featured on the page. Worth more than £500. In our book (no pun intended) that's a pretty fine haul at any time of year - and absolutely perfect for Christmas.

We just want to know where you like reading. Your answers will be put into the very large hat and a draw (made at random) will take place at midday on Weds 10 December - so the winner will receive their prize in plenty of time for the big day. All the details on the page

In the summer time I sit out on the bench in the herb garden in the sun and read and doze, but when it is cold and miserable I like to curl up on the sofa nearest the fire, a fleecy throw over my knees and a cup of hot chcolate beside me, and read away the nasty short afternoons

I love to read in my comfy chair beside the fire with plenty of cushions and a cup of coffee!

Anywhere when I am on holiday. I can get through 4 or 5 books with ease. It is wonderful to actually have the time to read a book.

I love reading in bed, snuggled under the duvets with a hot water bottle and a soft lamp

Oh, I have so many favourite places to read, as I love to read.
On a warm day, sat outside, enjoying the fresh air, or all curled up in the warmth if its cold outside. Each book takes me to a new place also, a beach, a house in London, a farmhouse, a castle ................ the list is so endless.

I love reading in the winter curled up on my bed, pillows as back support with a blanket, and a nice glass of wine. When the weathers warmer I love reading in my local park as I love the smells and sounds helps my imagination come to life.

My favourite place to relax and read is on a sun lounger by a hotel pool in Benidorm. Sadly that isn't always possible so when at home I coory up on MY spot on the sofa with my heatpad at my back, a blanket round my legs and a nice cup of milky sweet coffee.

I love reading in my quiet conservatory with a good cup of tea

I do most of my reading in the bath these days - it's the only place I'm guaranteed to be undisturbed!!

Either in bed or sitting in my reclining chair!

nannav Tue 09-Dec-14 10:24:03

In the winter it has to be on the sofa in front of our open fire ;-)

Lying a hot bath is a nice place to read, as is in bed before going to sleep. Both are good because none of my pets can
disturb me.

Ah it used to be on holiday, as I didn't used to read that much and enjoyed sitting by the pool reading a good book. We moved out of our old house last February and moved in to one slightly bigger but out in the countryside (such a culture change!). We found ourselves watching the t.v less, due to finding that we could go for a walk across the country, or walk a mile to our local pub and have a nice stroll back. When winter time come around, I used the fireplace for the first time, seeing as I wasn't too fussed about watching the t.v I started reading books again, I'm well and truly addicted! So from by the pool reading a book, my now favorite place is in the winter, by the fire place with a great book to read and some mulled cider. Bliss!

My favourite place to read is curled up on the sofa with a fluffy rug, lots of soft pillows and a purring cat.

I like to curl up with a good book in bed :-)

catcrazygirluk Tue 09-Dec-14 11:10:33

My favourite place to read is tucked up in bed. I prop myself up on my side, the cat is sound asleep beside me, and it is always a very peaceful and happy time. Sometimes I read late into the night, and sometimes I fall asleep after just a page or two.

Well, it used be beside the pool back when I briefly lived in SA, with the sun beating down on me, but now back in the UK, where it's pretty cold this time of year, in a nice warm bath.

Sitting on my comfy sofa that belonged to my late mum, in front of our blazing log fire. I feel extra close to my mum there, and think of her and her love of reading which she passed on to me, and will be forever grateful for.....

ravenmoon3 Tue 09-Dec-14 13:15:48

Curled up on the sofa of course smile

bobble5 Tue 09-Dec-14 14:20:56

My favourite place to curl up and read is on the sofa, log fire on and cosied in the evening. Add a bar of chocolate and I'm very happy.
