Over the festive season we love nothing more than curling up with a good book and a box of mince pie or two. And this year there are some VERY good books indeed. So we asked all the publishers we work with to nominate one of their favourite reads to enjoy this Christmas. And here they all are in one handy list.

Better still - one lucky gransnetter can win the ENTIRE lot. Yup - that's every book featured on the page. Worth more than £500. In our book (no pun intended) that's a pretty fine haul at any time of year - and absolutely perfect for Christmas.

We just want to know where you like reading. Your answers will be put into the very large hat and a draw (made at random) will take place at midday on Weds 10 December - so the winner will receive their prize in plenty of time for the big day. All the details on the page

I love to curl up in my warm bed, with a lovely mug of hot coffee on the side, a hot water bottle by my feet and a great book, my idea of bliss, in the winter. In the summer it is totally different as my favourite place to read is sat under the tree in the back garden on a sunny day.

This time of year it`s curled up under my electric fleece on the sofa, very cosy! But in the summer it`s sitting on the local beach listening to the waves in the background just blocking out all other sounds. Perfect!

Reading in bed on a winters night as the weather hurls itself against the window panes and I am relaxed, warm and comfortable and very thankful to be so. In summer time under the trees in the garden in my deck chair and with the sounds of birds and the warmth of the sun I will admit to dozing off at times! Bliss.

It depends where I am - when on holiday you cant beat lying out on a sun lounger with a good book smile at home in the UK I usually curl up on the sofa with a nice bar of chocolate a coffee and a good book smile

My favourite summer place to devour several novels is in Provence. Our generous friend's garden is delightful with so many hideaway spots depending on the mood. My choice includes under the grape arbor (just reach up to grab a grape); next to the shaded fountain; full sun on the recliner; legs dangling in the pool; or lounging next to the lavender. Whichever I choose its accompanied by a chorus of cicadas and a chilled local rosé - heavenly.
For winter its a long soak in an English bath but still with a glass of the old pink stuff to hand!

i love reading a book whilst flying, its one of my phobias and a good book helps me take my mind off it

Now I am getting on a bit, with new knees, I love to curl up in bed and read to my heart's content. The great thing with a good book I never notice the hours pass by, until my eyes can stay open no longer. The rest helps my legs, and the read helps to calm my mind for the night ahead!

If I'm not on a sun lounger dipping in and out of a book whilst dipping in and out of the pool my favourite place to read is snuggled up in bed listening to the wind and rain lashing against the window!

evieta Tue 09-Dec-14 19:50:12
