I love the fact that you can enjoy playing outside with them and you're not stressing about the mess

My favourite thing about summer, whether its after a stroll along a favourite beach or a day's pottering in my garden, is to be able to sit outside and indulge in a glass of cider and a good book. Double Bliss :-) :-)

Long, long hours of daylight, enabling you to do so much - and still have time for reading!

Preparing the children to go to the park by applying sun cream, packing water bottles and cutting small portions of apples, bananas and strawberries. We manage to get there just before the sun goes down and the children just love the rides and being able to play with lots of children. This gives me a little time to myself to read a good book while keeping an eye on them at the same time.

The best thing about summer? Apart from warm days and evenings, sunshine holidays, everyone having a happier face, the community being more sociable? Me? I love the long days - but, oh no shock the longest day has been and gone so they'll start to shorten now - better make the most of summer!!

Longer days and warmer nights are the ultimate combination making you feel invigorated and extending your scope.

My favourite thing about summer is seeing my great grandson who is nearly three playing with water. He loves jumping up and down in a bucket of water, being sprayed with the hose or just pouring water everywhere. My older grandchildren also like the water but they enjoy swimming or sliding down water chutes. However they are ALL happy to b the ones spraying the toddler with the hose!

My favourite thing about summer is sitting in the garden , surrounded by friends and family enjoying a summer evening BBQ or by myself with a drink some snacks and a good book! Nothing beats reading in the garden in the sunshine!

Playing tennis with my grandsons who are now of an age to get a good thwack at the ball.
We have to make the most of this because soon it won't be PC to play with Gran.
We have hilarious fun and I keep fit as well.
The local park is our Wimbledon and a cheeky squirrel keeps score !

Sunny days & light nights lift the nations mood. Summer is my favourite thing , birds singing, bees humming, children laughing & paddling pools splashing. Corks popping, barbecues squizzling, skin turning pink & adults having too much to drink! Trips to the beach, soggy dogs & sandy picnics, summer is my favourite thing

Summer means a lot to me, it reminds me of lazy days spent with my Dad out in the garden, picking strawberries and eating too many, eating pea pods, pulling little carrots to have for tea and enjoying all the stories he used to tell me about when he was young and the mischief he got up to with his friends. Happy days.

Such a glorious collection of books!

My favourite thing about summer is that you don't need to wear a coat or a jumper - but everybody wears a smile!
