In the summer I love to have my family over and have a barbecue. Chilling, eating and drinking in the garden with the people you love, you can't beat it!

I love hanging my washing out in the sunshine. In fact, I search the house for things to wash. Curtains, winter woolies, anything. Its just so nice not to have to use the dryer. I think it started with my daughters terry nappies. smile

The colours! Everyone brings out their bright happy colourful clothes. The flowers join in with colour everywhere. FABULOUS!

I love the longer days, so the curtains stay open, I love the light as it makes me feel happier.
I love the warmth, and the feel of lighter clothes, which are brighter and make me feel happier.
I love the blue coloured sky, rather than a grey angry sky it gives me more energy and makes me happier.
I love having time to read a book, without feeling guilty, it makes me so happy.

Now this is definitely my kind of prize.
My favourite thing about summer is the light mornings and evenings, being able to eat outside and enjoy the warmer summer weather for longer.

Summer is the time to relax, enjoy the great outdoors and spend time with a book. With so many great reads available I'm spoilt for choice! I always like to pass on any books I read rather than leave them to gather dust on a shelf, others can enjoy them too.

The light nights giving us more time to enjoy the great outdoors x

Take the chance to live outside as much as possible. Have meals out there even if it's not a BBQ.

So much sport on tv in the summer. Wimbledon, The Ashes and lots of other cricket, some soccer, athletics, speedway, golf and more. I do not like being outside in the sun so watching sport indoors is ideal for me.

Getting up to daylight, getting dressed in comfy clothing and being able to go out without having to wear a coat. Freedom!

My favourite thing about summer is definitely being able to spend more time outside, especially with friends and family. Spending time in the sun has a very calming and positive effect on me smile

It's hard to pick one thing, but the joy I get from looking round my lovely garden at the height of its June beauty is hard to beat!

chrisx2 Wed 01-Jul-15 17:31:09

I love to pack a good old fashioned nanny style picnic and head to the beach with my grandchildren !

theresacoo Wed 01-Jul-15 17:35:16

Fabulous book selection.
I enjoy the fact everything seems easier and everyone friendlier.
It reminds me of the song by porgy and Bess. It's Summertime and the livin is easy.

At the moment it is having my two very small grandsons visit - and letting them do things they have never done before - picking and eating a pea pod, eating an ice cream, learning to drink through a straw, being allowed to 'team and ladle' with water in the garden. Lovely!
