To be published in January. Oh dear ?

I've always felt some sympathy for Harry. But it has drained away in the last couple of years. If they want to go out on their own, good luck to them. But don't then play on the royal connection for financial gain. And don't wash dirty linen in public. And can he not appreciate how lucky he has been, and still is, not to have to worry if he can afford to feed his kids or keep a roof over their heads. And there are people having to do jobs they hate who are only just managing to keep their heads above water.

Namsnanny of course!

^But that doesn't mean he shouldn't try^ I agree Dickens just wish he'd do so in private; but then he wouldn't get paid would he.

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Joseanne Sat 29-Oct-22 13:51:59

We wouldn't want it turning into accusations of posters being liars snd wiches
I obviously I am no longer a witch as my powers of spell ing are very poor! Phew!
Looks like I spelt sandwich, but I was having a late lunch at the time! 🥪

Back to the book.

Oh for goodness sake.

It's an internet meme that gullible people who believe everything they see and read will believe you if you say you have a bridge for sale.

You asked me if I meant the kind of bridge that things live under.
What creature lives under bridges? Trolls.

What are we absolutely not allowed to accuse other posters of being? Trolls.

Prentice Sat 29-Oct-22 13:53:35

Scottiebear you have said the exact things my husband said recently. When we think of all the people in this country with many problems who are uncomplaining day after day, and then hear a very rich entitled man giving interviews and writing a book and acting in a really terrible way towards his family, no wonder people feel the way they do.

MrsBridges Sat 29-Oct-22 13:53:57

Apart from making thinly veiled threatening remarks to people and displaying utter contempt and disdain for anyone who has the audacity to think differently to you, do you enjoy any other hobbies volver? And do you enjoy spreading your venom elsewhere or are we the sole beneficiaries?

It is an Internet meme I have never heard of.I do not spend too much time on the Internet, but obviously you do, and I think many on Gransnet will never have heard of this either.
I have thought of another kind of bridge, the ones in a fish tank.

Well maybe you'll know next time Prentice. And maybe I've managed to inform some people today.

My work here is done.

Oh! I was going to ask if it was a bridge over troubled water.
Extending an olive branch to other posters perhaps

Silly me, so gullible 😂😂😂

Nodj Sat 29-Oct-22 14:03:03

From USA but I agree!!!

Prentice Sat 29-Oct-22 14:03:27

It is the silliest meme I have ever heard of, and has no relevance on this thread at all in any case.
I do wonder though what exactly you consider ‘your work’ to be.

Forsythia Sat 29-Oct-22 14:03:58

A wealthy privileged man has co-written a book. A man who, until he married, seemed happy being ‘the spare’. A man who has never had to worry about working, food on the table, money in his pocket, housing himself. A man who was babied and coddled, got away with a lot due to his mother dying, apparently cruel to animals, drink, drugs, naked billiards, cheating in exams at Eton, supposedly not passing exams to get into Sandhurst or more to fly planes, you name it he has done it or not as the case may be. Will he write about all of that? If his book addresses all of this then it will be a worthwhile read perhaps. If, as many suspect, it will be all about feeling second best and jealous of his brother then he really needs to grow up. I won’t say anything about Meghan although she will be driving this. It’s his name, his face on the cover so he should take responsibility for the first time in his life. It will be interesting at the very least.

FannyCornforth Sat 29-Oct-22 14:04:12

It stems from the story of the American businessman who bought London Bridge, thinking that he was buying Tower Bridge.
It happened a long while back, before memes, or even the internet, were a thing.
Perhaps I’ve educated someone today

Namsnanny Sat 29-Oct-22 14:04:21

I admit I have strange and varied interests.
One of which is bridges
I have a PBS recording of all the bridges that have suffered with bad engineering.😂
The San Fransisco Bridge (1920-30)was a complete fiasco. Wobbled and jumped around so much in the wind all the cars on it were thrown off!.

Prentice Sat 29-Oct-22 14:05:23

Callistemon another good bridge reference smile
And so much better than ‘burning your bridges’

Joseanne Sat 29-Oct-22 14:06:15

Building bridges maybe Callistemon?
Actually I was thinking it could mean selling a diamond bridge ring. Isn't that the bit under the stone?

PS Meghan re designed the bridge of the engagement 💍 Harry gave her.

Prentice Sat 29-Oct-22 14:06:37

There was a very wobbly bridge in London, it waved about alarmingly!

Forsythia Sat 29-Oct-22 14:07:06

Perhaps it’s a bridge on your teeth….

Namsnanny Sat 29-Oct-22 14:07:10

Go onto BBC News 2018 and see the Inca grass bridge being re made. Absolute work of art.
