To be published in January. Oh dear ?

Lucca Sat 29-Oct-22 13:14:59

*Except Volver of course, as she has already said it doesn’t interest her.

(No doubt she will have an opinion on it, none the less)*

A bit like the posters who always say they wish H and M would just go away and keep quiet etc as “we” aren’t interested and yet they comment !

Thing is, the tabloid press and others write what they like about the Royal family so why can’t Harry write his own book? People like Piers Morgan has been getting his knickers in a huge knot over this book, but he is happy to write reams of rubbish about Harry and Meghan. Look how many books have been written about Diana. When she did write her own version of events via Andrew Morton, it was if the sky had fallen in. So good for Harry. If he has written the truth and his family are upset, so be it.

I agree LLFL but he just seems so unhappy... I hope he also writes about his achievements..

Do they! Thank you Volver
I’ve heard that it’s already the top selling book, even as a preorder.

As an aside, I don’t understand why people would preorder books

Yes, I always wonder if you have to pay for them when you order or when it arrives.
I might not be here by the time it arrives 😲

Lupatria Sat 29-Oct-22 13:27:58

i won't be buying it - they'd have to pay me.

Namsnanny Sat 29-Oct-22 13:30:31

They have to stay in the lime light, and pay their way.
They both want to be the American 1st family (bigger, in their eyes than the royals).
Imv Harry doesnt mind playing second fiddle, and his wife has her eyes on the White House.
So its spin what ever they can, when ever they can until they convince the money men to support her running.
Whether it works and they get that support is another matter.
To be honest, credit where credit is due, they are rarely out of the news
So far it seems to be working for them.

There's days when I really am speechless. Where do you all get this stuff from?

p.s. I've got a bridge for sale. Any takers?

Namsnanny Sat 29-Oct-22 13:34:29

£13-£14 for hardback
Half price apparently. Maybe if you pre order you get it at the lower price?

eazybee Sat 29-Oct-22 13:34:35

That dreadful book which Meghan produced, The Bench(?), was touted as top of the best-seller list, but as they just happened to donate a copy to every school in the USA, that may have made a difference.
I read it in the newspaper so I know it was true.

Some people just love attention, and if they cannot get this in a good way, will keep on becoming more and more either unpleasant or outrageous until they get attention that way.
Childish? Yes, very.

Keffie12 Sat 29-Oct-22 13:34:47

Let's look at the books and TV shows Charles has done in the past. Remember 1994 interview when he slatted his childhood and revealed he was cheating on Diana. That's different hey! For transparency Diana interview response was in 1995.

As for the book title: nothing wrong with it. It is what he has always been known has so people don't like it when he says it back.

Regarding why he is doing it: alot of the money is going to charity anyway and everyone talks about him, as sources, experts etc. so why the hell shouldn't he respond.

The books written about him! That's O.K as long as he doesn't respond then it seems too many here!

Remember that boy of 12 who walked behind his mom coffin forced on them by the media!

I'm a woman who had a toxic childhood and recreated it in adulthood. It doesn't matter who you are or how much money you have. It doesn't mean you aren't damaged.

Harry is, as is William damaged, however William is not Harry, was older and has far more impute than Harry because of his future role.

Mental health needs talking about. From someone in his position it's helping the world. If you don't understand this then thank god you haven't any understanding of mental health issues as it appears alot of you don't.

What the heck has happened to our generation who were born into a changing world? I'm glad he is speaking out. He has every right too xonsidering the trash and lies written about M and him.

Oh and yes mine is on order as many people I know is!

It's no 1 in many countries already and pre order sold out in many places

Is this the kind of bridge that something lives under or a dental bridge?
Are there other kinds? A bridging loan?

Geordiegirl1 Sat 29-Oct-22 13:39:32

If it shines light into the dark corners of this uniquely privileged and sickeningly wealthy family and thereby stops all the oily sycophancy seen on here and elsewhere, then I’m for it.

volver Sat 29-Oct-22 13:39:38

I don't think they're doing it so that they can raise money so that Meghan can be President.

Also, those saying its not about hate might want to consider the underlying meaning of "Harry not minding playing second fiddle".

We've jumped the shark, haven't we?

Namsnanny Sat 29-Oct-22 13:40:27

Keffie12 agreed, his parents led the way.
With exception of the comment
What ever happend to our generation who were born I to a changing world
Not sure what you mean?

Joseanne Sat 29-Oct-22 13:41:29

Perhaps in future both the journalists at The Guardian and others could defer from name calling, by that I mean calling peoplehaters. It’s horrible and unworthy of journalists and the demographic that reads Gransnet.
Thank you for your sense of propietry and civility on this thread addyone. We wouldn't want it turning into accusations of posters being liars snd wiches .... even though it is nearly Halloween 🧙‍♀️ 🧹 🎃 .

Careful Prentice. Very close to the wind. And very clever, if you meant it to be interpreted that way.

Prentice Sat 29-Oct-22 13:42:43

Keffie12 are you in the US? Just wondered as Harry is viewed with more sympathy there.
Here, not so much. However, it must be said that not too long ago he was very popular here, until he and Meghan left the UK and yet continued to disrespect his family. Her family too, come to think of it.

You said you have a bridge for sale.

I was accused on another thread this morning of having a coven.

Does that count?

Sorry, talking about another thread.

Keffie12 Sat 29-Oct-22 13:44:44

To add to my comment up above here is a picture of all the books written about Harry by others over the years without his permission.

Various others pics to look at including a screenshot of an article Charles gave the blessing to Jonathon Dimberly to write his book about being forced into a loveless marriage

Oh, OK. Not clever at all then.

What lives under bridges?

LovelyLady Sat 29-Oct-22 13:47:28

So sad for the King. There have been rumours for most of Harry’s life about his alleged father. So sad he’s chosen to distance himself from a Father who cared for him unconditionally. His Father was there throughout all the drinking and drug fuelled behaviour. His Brother must be at breaking point. So sad Harry just can’t go quietly. He’s chosen a woman to live with who doesn’t have what it takes to be a Royal wife. So very very sad. I do wonder how long his marriage will last. It was a beautiful wedding day spoiled by the fact her father was unable to attend. Her poor father must be so ashamed of his daughter. Such an unhappy family.

I'd say A Bridge Too Far smile

Do you have a bridge for sale?
If not, what exactly did you mean by saying that you had, and saying ‘any takers’?
