^It's an internet meme that gullible people who believe everything they see and read will believe you if you say you have a bridge for sale^

Oh! I was going to ask if it was a bridge over troubled water.
Extending an olive branch to other posters perhaps

Silly me, so gullible 😂😂😂

😂😂

Forsythia Sat 29-Oct-22 14:09:46

No royal bashing that I can see.

Apparently Book one of a three book deal for $36 million, with a $20 million advance. Specified that the second book should not be published until after the Queen has died. But what can you expect fron an overpriviliged grown up toddler and a guttersnipe who thought she could teach the Queen how to modernise the monarchy. Harry is just a step in her ambition to rise above everyone - even hinting she might run for President (jeez, if that’s the case she’ll makr Trump look good!) She’ll drop Harry when he can longer be useful. All they do is monetizing their royal rank despite promising the Queen, King Charles and Prince William not to do so.
King Charles should strip them of their Duke and Duchess rank and then we’d really see how they’d get on as ordinary people. No doubt it would be received only because Meghan is black. According to Tom Bower the author of ‘Revenge: the war between Meghan, Harry and the war between Windsors’ they wanted to sell pens and the like with the ‘Sussexroyal’ logo - how crass!

I wouldnt change the Monarchy or RF but they do kind of ask for it sometimes though. Dont you agree?

Prentice Sat 29-Oct-22 14:11:28

It is also my favourite character from Downton Abbey smile

Keffie12 are you in the US? Just wondered as Harry is viewed with more sympathy there.
Here, not so much. However, it must be said that not too long ago he was very popular here, until he and Meghan left the UK and yet continued to disrespect his family. Her family too, come to think of it.

No I am British born and bred. Yes I live here. There is far more support for them than you realise here in The U.K

I am a member of a Sussex group on social media. There are alot of them around and the majority U.K based and U.K run.

We don't make the noise those who put out the bile and bilge like Morgan, Wooton and Levin do that others buy into. If you look closer you will see far more support for them than you think they gave. The noise takes over

I have a decent journalist friend who told me, the likes of Morgan and his like only do it for monetary gain anyway as the U S market is far more lucrative than here for making them money through the back door

You believe all of it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Prentice Sat 29-Oct-22 14:14:56

How much was the book deal for then, anybody know this?

grannyscott Sat 29-Oct-22 14:15:01

What a lot of judgemental people you are. All your knowledge of this young man is what the media have chosen to feed you and you have obviously eaten well!

Grantanow Sat 29-Oct-22 14:15:19

Likely to be remaindered!

"I hope his vengeful booky wook does not match up to the publisher’s expectations and they end up out of pocket having paid him an advance of many millions."

I'm torn here - in theory I'd agree with you. But they are also MY publishers so I don't want them to go broke!

bevisp1 Sat 29-Oct-22 14:17:29

Isn’t anyone who isn’t the oldest of the siblings a ‘spare’ as harry put it. Doesn’t mean you have to have that as an excuse to have nothing much to do with your family. I’m glad I’m the ‘spare’ in my family. When is this man going to move forward instead of living in the past.

Upstairs Downstairs.

No doubt it would be received only because Meghan is black.

What on earth does that mean? I probably shouldn't ask. But now I have.

Prentice Sat 29-Oct-22 14:23:13

I knew it was a cook grin from a historical tv programme.
I loved Upstairs Downstairs too, but Downton Abbey was better.I wish there were more, shall have to watch the re-runs in future.

Forsythia Sat 29-Oct-22 14:23:55

I think some words are missing. It doesn’t read correctly.

Thing is, the tabloid press and others write what they like about the Royal family so why can’t Harry write his own book? People like Piers Morgan has been getting his knickers in a huge knot over this book, but he is happy to write reams of rubbish about Harry and Meghan. Look how many books have been written about Diana. When she did write her own version of events via Andrew Morton, it was if the sky had fallen in. So good for Harry. If he has written the truth and his family are upset, so be it.

The trouble is, that so much is NOT the truth. Meghan has been found out as lying about her youth and her experience in the Royal Family, and there is hard evidence that she contadicted herself on numerous topics. Harry is party to the lies and can have no excuse for trashing the family without which his would not exist. For instance saying that Archie could not be a prince because of his colour - the protocol (introduced by King George V) is that only grandchildren of the monarch can have the title of ‘prince’ or ‘princess’. Archie is entitled to the be ‘prince’. But why should Britain have a prince who is probably going to be brought up as an American?

Hudson is needed here

or Carson to sort matters out.

There is an interesting article in the Guardian today - ‘Please spare me all of this Harry-hating’ by Marina Hyde.

It was the media that called them "the heir and the spare" not their parents. as far as I could see, He wasn't made to feel second best or inferior. He was one of two children, and always seemed to be treated the same as his brother. When he was older, he did a job he loved, flying helicopters, and he married the woman he chose. If she found she was a square peg in a round hole, then so are many wives when they come into close contact with their husband's families. The vast majority manage to rub along together and the couples don't go on to make a career about of dissing their inlaws.

‘Heir and spare’ terminology has always been around for royals and aristocracy for millenia. It is not uniquely British. Men have always wanted sons to carry on their names, and should the firstborn come to grief, there would still be a direct descendent to inherit their wealth, titles, estates and whatever else.
