To be published in January. Oh dear ?

annsixty Fri 28-Oct-22 10:02:20

Now there’s a thought.
Will they turn up to be part of the pomp and ceremony or will they make the excuse of Archie’s birthday party to refuse the invitation?

The RF is secretive and all we really know is gossip via journalists so it will be interesting IMO to hear what an member of this dysfunctional family has to say…..bearing in mind he was formed by this environment.

Some of the funniest posts about this are on FB and Twitter. It might not be what the spare wants, but the publishers are jumping up and down with excitement about the free publicity.
The suggestion that they should be referred to as Meghan and the Spare was one of them, immediately repudiated by one tweeter because the Spare wouldn’t like his name coming after her’s.

to be released in January.........to put a shadow on the coronation

That’s what I thought. To release it before Christmas would be too close to the Queen’s funeral.

Calendargirl Fri 28-Oct-22 10:30:48

Of course we don’t know what will be in the book, but it’s pretty obvious Charles absolutely adores Camilla, so I’m jolly sure criticism of her will not endear H&M to the King.

Joseanne

I reckon it was the same photographer, what do you think?
Do a shoot of one, get the other half price.

It was! You are quite right. 2 for the price of 1 ?

Forsythia Fri 28-Oct-22 11:19:37

Or a BOGOF

maddyone Fri 28-Oct-22 11:22:00

I thought the release date was initially going to be just before Christmas but was pushed back because the Queen died. It has also been suggested that Harry wanted to rewrite parts of the book in the light of her death but Netflix weren’t keen.
Incorrect gossip or the truth? Who knows?
Will I be buying it? Absolutely not!

The sad thing here is that Megan and Harry seem to have nothing at all to offer, apart from a relentless drip drip of salacious tales about their lives, and the injustices they feel they have endured. 'Having chosen to leave the Royal Family, could they not have chosen a better way of life?

Sparklefizz Fri 28-Oct-22 11:48:49

The sad thing is that Harry doesn't understand the plight of others much less privileged than himself who lost a parent at such a young age . He's never gone without a meal, shoes that fit, birthday and Christmas gifts and has no understanding of the care system....yet he bleats on and on. I'm sure his heartache is genuine but he needs to open his eyes and move on and enjoy his family and his lifestyle.

His own grandfather, Prince Philip, suffered a very difficult childhood - much worse than Harry's - but resolved to do his best and grew up to be a man of strength, loyalty, and still able to see the fun and humor in life. It would serve Harry well to read up about that.

Or a BOGOF

Oh I do wish they would!

henetha Fri 28-Oct-22 11:50:29

That's well put, Sparklefizz. I agree.

The sad thing is that there are so many people who want to viciously gossip about this.

Can someone explain to me the difference between 2 for 1 and BOGOF?

Rosie51 Fri 28-Oct-22 11:55:42

Sparklefizz very good points. If Harry was able to see beyond himself, I'm sure he'd be a much happier and contented person. He has so much to be thankful for.

Yes, there doesn't seem to be much else to their repertoire.

I thought they might have more to offer than this.

The comparison that Sparklefizz makes between Prince Philip and Prince Harry seems to me to be a very valid one. Prince Philip headed a number of pet projects, but probably the most well known is the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. Equally Harry is very involved with Well Child (I think that’s it’s name) and The Invictus Games. All very worthy projects. However Prince Philip never moaned or complained despite a very difficult childhood. He was smuggled out of Greece as a baby in a basket or box. His mother went off to be a nun and his older sisters and a variety of other relatives raised him. He didn’t go on national television to complain about his lot in life, he didn’t write a book about his life. He got on with life and supporting his wife who became Queen somewhat earlier than they expected. He gave up his promising naval career to support her. He didn’t moan or complain. There are a number of things Harry could learn from his grandfather, but for a very wealthy man (money being no object to travel unlike many other people) to refuse to attend his grandfather’s memorial service tells me what kind of a man Harry is.

paddyann54 Fri 28-Oct-22 12:33:58

maybe Philips public persona was very different from his private one .His main influence was Mountbatten after all who was hardly a saint!!Be interesting if Harry has a different take on his sainted GF?

We should all be eternally grateful that he wasn't the first born son.

King Charles replaces Prince Harry as Captain General of the Royal Marines: Monarch becomes ceremonial head of the Duke of Sussex's beloved Commandos... a day after son's memoir announcement

Caleo Fri 28-Oct-22 13:10:14

It's possible that no member of the royal family would hold down an ordinary well paid job.

Caleo Fri 28-Oct-22 13:12:47

Volver, I imagine BOGOFF means you have to buy three to get one free. Two for one looks as if it means you get one free if you buy two.

Calendargirl Fri 28-Oct-22 13:13:53

And still no mention if Archie and Lilibet are getting their titles.

A tell all memoir won’t help.

Mind you, seeing as H&M weren’t bothered about titles for their children in the first place….

I believe the release date is decided by the publisher, not the author(s).

Though it might have been deliberate.
