For me, it has to be Shrines of Gaiety by Kate Atkinson. Loved it.

I have just finished The Unlikely Pilgrimage Of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce. I listen to Audible books and I just could not stop listening. I am generally a fan of mysteries or memoirs. But this book was so unusual that I was hooked. Now I am listening to Wes Streeter’s autobiography One Boy, Two Bills and a Fry Up. Really liking it.

I loved the Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. I then went to see the film which wasn't as good as the book!

Cloud Cuckoo Land by Richard Duerr. It’s the best book I have read in a long time.

Yes really enjoyed this. Loved All the Light We Cannot See as well.

The Satsuma Complex by Bob Mortimer. I felt as if I could hear Bob's voice throughout. I've just started the sequel, The Hotel Avocado.

I've read a few really good books in the last twelve months but having to choose one, it's probably White Teeth by Zadie Smith. However, Is Just A Movie by Earl Lovelace is just as good.

I’ve read lots of Kristen Hannah's books this year. Some have made me cry ! Books you don’t wangg TV to put down- based on real life but fictional. The situations, emotions & sometimes hardships in the story are described so well . She’s done a lot of research into her topics/ many are written about strong women. I’d recommend.

This thread is 3 years old. I haven't read any good books this year yet, but just enjoyed Killing Time by Alan Bennet. It is very short but fun.
